I’m still using the old site, until they kill it.
Yeah, unfortunately the changes broke the radar app I’ve been using forever. None of the old APIs anre compatible. And I wouldn’t put much money on this mirror of the old site staying up long.
Was running typically 2 hrs behind (for me). Would not update despite refresh or even close and reopen on the radar. Very frustrating.
Thanks for posting that. Was trying to figure out what all the fuss was about because I didn’t have any of those issues over the weekend, everything worked spot on. Have now worked out what I was doing right! I only use the app, not the website, won’t be changing that and hope they keep their dirty mitts off it.
It’s kinda rainy here. I usually use the BOM website which defaults to a rain map of all of Australia which is not what I’m looking for. So after about 6 clicks I reckon the rain might subside in about half an hour.
I have a water leak in my garage. I have no farking idea where it is coming from because I silicolned everything I could see. This is quite frustrating. No I haven’t called a plumber to take a look.
This is a good old fashioned soaking today. Has not stopped!
I use the website and had no issues.
I’m on the northern rivers at the moment. Last week it said it would be ■■■■ weather from thursday to Tuesday. Thus far, we had a huge storm on Saturday night from 5pm and that was it. Not going to complain that they got it wrong (again)
It’s all my fault! I washed the car this morning and it is now hailing in the Northern suburbs.
Massive rain drops
Can you change the BOM weather map back to what it used to look like. In that I mean when it shows the dark red colour?
Do you have the radar on rain reflectivity dBZ?
I’m still using the old BoM site and comparing it to the new one, and the new one is still crap. Especially as the radar loop is on delay and timing it against the weather at my place, the new one is a good 30 mins behind.
I use the app and it’s looked exactly the same through all this, I’ve been very confused
I do a google search “Melbourne radar BOM” and it now takes me to what looks like the old map. But it’s got a different rain pattern which is all blue and light blue. I think this indicates how much rain will fall over a period but I like to see where the storm is most intense, like the old rain radar used to do.
Deleted, wrong topic
Just put reg. before the website address. If Melbourne isn’t your local radar, top right corner there is ‘Other Radars’ option with the old radar sites as well.
Bookmarked on my phone and laptop because the new site is a debacle.
It’s raining (again)
If you’re inside in Melbourne, this rain is a delight to… watch and ponder the world.
