A thread about rain and no other things

yep - sitting back at home with a cup of tea and enjoying watching it come down

It is raining up on the Far south coast of NSW and it is freezing. I don’t know what the chill factor is - but cold.

Had a tiny bit of frozen rain. Triggered.

We haven’t had much today after 40mm in 36 hours, but a guy in Timboon, near Cobden, was saying they’ve had 70mm and the fields can’t take much more until it dries out a bit. Cows are churning up the grass.

Rain hey!

Time to batten down the hatches and pour a whisky.

When rain and wind come together in their intensity, is it OK
BOM guy referred to wind coming down the guts of Victoria, mentions Kilmore

The bird-scaring owl on my back porch has blown off the table twice, so it has been pretty bad. A balmy 14.9 with blue skies in the south-west.

Some good rain at the moment to wash all these buildings that have been spoken about…

It’s been a huge winter for rain. Can’t remember one like it for a while.

I filled both my 10,000L tanks by mid April. I could have filled another 25 tanks if I’d had them.

Not allowed to talk about rain in the flooded areas of Germany and the Lowlands where you can now sail on the Lowlands, not just from them

Only about Regen

A few dead from floods pounding Belgium

Just had a lovely hour long bike ride in the rain. I’m a bit cold and wet. Having a vodka.

Now that sounds like a damn good idea!

PS Will skip the bike ride though.

We have had fark all rain here. Our garden is as dry as ……….

5mm today, 8mm yesterday. Stopped the solar installers putting up half the panels.

Don’t think I’ve missed out on much solar energy the last couple of days.

Northern and eastern suburbs will do particularly well this evening from this system.

“Bay-effect” showers … water temperature warmer than air temperature and SW/S winds will intensify the showers as they travel across the bay.

Pretty common this time of year.

If you’re in the west? Not so much.

Very decent rain at the moment in Melbourne.

Nice to be inside watching it coming down.

It’s a wet July down here in Portland with 148mm recorded so far compared to the long-term July average of 98mm.

There’s still another 11 days to go with more rain forecast for the next week at least, which may see us surpass the all time record of 180mm.
