I am told by the club Ryan has left- bit of a pity, I liked his receptiveness.
Agree re post-goal audio, it’s embarrassing that we pipe in a chant. I think marketers themselves, deep down, know that once you turn something organic like a chant official, you immediately reverse its effectiveness. It’s like calling things “Macca’s” on an ad- now calling it Macca’s doesn’t sound affectionate, it sounds like Big Brother’s authorised and registered ritual callsign. But even though marketers know this, officialising and muzaking emotion is the only way they can see to make money out of it to justify their positions. So we receive the Orwellian command: “Come Essendon Bombers consumers! Let us spontaneously chant ‘We are Essendon’ in a natural and enthusiastic manner!”

During last quarter of the brisbane game some old chick from the cs was leaving, one of them stood up and yells somthing like “Where a you going? The game’s not over” at her. She replied “■■■■ off. Dont tell me what to ■■■■■■■ do, you ■■■■■■■■”.
10/10 game day experience.

Have to say the cheer squad has improved heaps the past year, there’s not many of em but it was really noticeable v Geelong a few week ago where sitting up the top deck the only cheer squad I could hear was Essendon and we were getting pumped.
Go back 5 years and you could sit next to the CS and still not hear them.

Was it just me, or was there a fake chant right before the bounce? And then that god awful music before every bounce (it’s a great don’t, but why)?
It’s utter bullshit that we have to put up with it. Is it the club, the league or the MCG that decides on this stuff.
