We need all Blitzer's sitting/standing between the GS and CS and all around them. Then we can get everyone going.
Need something with more gusto, repetiveness & ease of entry.
Something like "We will rock you"
The stamp & clap would shake the place if it came off.
Jimmy is a true man, took a bullet, then a stand
... told us all that he would be back one day.
He's got smiles on his face, clubs in a good place,.
gonna lead us to the winning of the premiership race.
Singing ....
I'm sure some fans would actually sing "Rock" you. ;)
(I most likely wouldn't)
Love those lyrics!!
ACDC - Big Balls
Make it happen.
As much as I’ve found the lyrics created on here pretty entertaining, I think we should ditch the parody’s (As good as they were but still quite corny) in favour of a new, perhaps 4 verse original.
Our great club has been dragged through the mud the last 2 years so it’s only fitting that we rack our brains on here and come up with a new chant (or extend the ‘We Are Essendon’ chant) that truly epitomises our club that will be remembered & chanted for the next 140 odd years!
Be pretty amazing for the future generations of Essendon supporters to be told “this chant was created in one of the toughest times the club has endured where it’s players, coach and supporters never chucked in the towel so this chant was created in respect of that and has become an important addition to our club’s culture.”
Thoughts or am I being a hopeless Bomber romantic haha?

Beautiful, I totally agree Danny. Just imagine we come up with something awesome on here, it actually comes off at games and then it becomes part of our history. Firstly, let's try to get some suggestions, then next year we need to get it to work at games.
👌
Cheer squad needs a drummer.
LETS GET LOUD!
Anyone true Essendon fan can join the GS at the G, they are in the standing room area, so it really is fun to get a beer, leave your quiet, reserved little plastic excuse for a seat and go down there to really soak up some atmosphere, and participate. Just dont expect to have a voice left the next day !
And, if its all too much, go back to the quiet reserved seat for a rest and recuperation. Beware, the air can turn blue down there so, its not for the faint hearted !
HE ALREADY HAD IT IN HIS BLOODSTREAM
Our support is fckn dire.
Our support is fckn dire.
It wasn't against norf. My last memory of paddy will be that goal he kicked, the big bender. The southern stand fkn shook
Would love to see all Essendon members and supporters sing a song before the game. Like Port Adelaide's "Never Tear Us Apart". One of the songs that Melbourne Victory sing before home games is "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King. I was thinking we could change the words a little bit and sing:
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No, I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as we stand, stand by Hird
So darling, darling
Stand by Hird, oh stand by Hird
Oh stand, stand by Hird
Stand by Hird
And so on...
We could have the lyrics up on the big screens.
I'd prefer to do it at 3/4 time. Gets the players going as well.
Bomber Girl is going to streak next year.
Oh what? Does that mean I need to start exercising? Also I’m white people will think they’ve seen a walking eclipse.
Our support is weird.
First quarters at the dome are laughable sometimes, the silence is eerie. Then you have other times when we can’t be beaten. Second half against west coast this year, last quarter against bulldogs with Carlisle this year.
The thing with football is you can’t have ‘active support’ all day as there is always so much action during the game.
If we played at the G where there is actually history and soul loud support would be much more consistent. That and good football.
We cannot have a hird centric song. Would be naff like the word naff. Must be a general song about awesomeness or a bombers song.
I reckon that foo fighters song - getting the best of you - that used to fire me up with an old boss. Would pump it up on the way to work…
Would agree 100% on this. Cheer squad is no good. I appreciate the time and effort they put into the club but to be honest sitting next to them as my reserve seat is aisle 2 is draining.
I too go to the a league a lot and I find that atmosphere way more better than the current afl atmosphere.
Not saying we become the a league. But we need something
Stand by me would be a perfect song to play before the game unify the fans.
We need colour. Lots of flags lots of banners in the crowd
We need people in there to make a lot of noise and chant as one and not rush the chants
We need to create a unique loud and colorful atmosphere.
Not have people sitting creating little to none.
If the atmosphere ain’t there people will still home and watch from tv
Bring the atmosphere and people will want to be a part of it.
We do have some amazing moments, this was about as good as it got, the seconds before the ball was bounced after that goal was the loudest I've ever heard the G. Had Norf supporting mates in the crowd and they were genuinely scared of the roar after that and even after Joey kicked the first they told me.It wasn't against norf. My last memory of paddy will be that goal he kicked, the big bender. The southern stand fkn shookOur support is fckn dire.
As for people looking for a song, as sceptical as I am that it would get off the ground, there's plenty of good options in English football that we could twist some lyrics for anyway and see what happens.
