AFL Team Salaries

I was wondering if there was a site that maintained contracts and salaries and salary cap space etc for AFL teams?
With free agency, this is an important factor for discussion and player management.

You a cop?

Don’t think player contracts are public knowledge…nor do I particularly think they should be.

I know where I last worked, it was a sackable offence to discuss your salary with other staff.

interesting… all the american sports its public knowledge and i think most contracts are announced or a lot are when they are signed here?

Terrace sweeper at the Den can’t be on too much…

could you imagine that mario bloke from doncaster? if he knew how much vickery was being paid would probably blow up punt road.

That’s sounds a bit harsh…is it even legal?

None of them are. The communication specialists pick a number from thin air and report that “it is believed that the contract is for $x”

How are we supposed to know our chances and abilities to land free agents, judge our list managers etc without this information?
This is their job and they run the club for the members…

It is their job and we trust that they do it well.

Salaries are and should be private.

Noonan stopped working in the 70’s. I’m sure it was legal then

I dont think it should be private. They are ALL footballers. They all receive at least 55k as a rookie and they all have to fit within a salary cap.
Players can be valued to a team not only by their football ability but their ability divided by their pay packet in the days of free agency.

Heres an example of what I use with regards to NHL

You don’t think it should be private? Do you think they should be forced to tell us what colour undies they’re wearing too? Worry about something else more important.

And do you get some funny looks when you ask.

Public Servants salaries are not private. Directors and Senior Staff of Publicly Listed Companies have their salaries in Annual Reports.

Australia is about the only place I know where many get really precious about how much they are paid.

I hate all secrecy, and all my Staff know where they stand relative to everyone else.
