Can someone please tell me why most footy players choose collingwood or carlton as their melbourne club of choice when trading is occuring. why doesn't anyone nominate the bombers. what is wrong with us. I know some will say the drugs problem this season however this has been happeneing for a while now. Why doesn't anyone want to come to our club.
Because we've got supporters with unrealistic expectations?
Collingwood yes. They are the biggest club in the land
Carlton. Really?
Judd went cause of third party payments (which other clubs were denied doing) and Daisy wants to play with Mick
Pity Dodo wasn't involved in the supplements scam, he may have been suspended for a few months and we'd be able to look at someone else to do the job. We been through various coaches and all other positions have changed hands over the last mediocre decade trying to get results, but for some unobvious reason this guy still has his job.

Oh FFS. Dodoro has been doing this role in some form for 10 years now and he is still there. So that means: 2 coaches (Sheedy and Knights) 3 CEOs a handfull of Footy Managers 3 Presidents 10 year's worth of Board Members a 2 time premiership coach in Bomber Thompson and James Hird all think he must be doing a pretty good job. Or maybe they are all wrong and you know best.
If the AFL think that three weeks of this crap is good for the game in any sense at all, they’ve got rocks in their heads! We are two days in and the majority of trade radio are already talking pure ■■■■, imagine what they’ll be like next week!

its all part of the continual yankification of the game.
saw this today;
just give them helmets and cheerleaders and be done with it.
Those that have a clue would know and realise just how lucky we are to have one of the best in the business in Adrian Dodoro.
And now he has some good coaches at the club to develop the youngsters.
Bang on. Very highly regarded. Gws were keen on him.

Never heard Damien Barrett offer anything to the contrary.
Wasn't Aish underwhelming in the Norwood GF win? Wasn't there another player of his age who tore it up?
Trent Dumont, will go pick 8-12 mark.
Doesnt get noticed as much as Aish but to me is a far better player and will turn out to be a gun.
Decent build already and an in and under mid with good foot skills. Would take him over Aish in a heartbeat

ok so my question is how do we obtain a pick 8-12?

Bite the bullet and take pick 22 for Crameri is a good starting point. Then we need to find another club to get involved and send them the pick 22 plus Gumby/Jetta.
Obviously the only other way which id be loathe to do would be trading out Myers.
I honestly cant see us getting inside the top 20
Port have talked about trading out their pick 10 for Polec so obviously some clubs are open to trading out their first rounders.
But we have to give something to get something and to be honest I think we over rate our players a bit

Quite clearly it is a move destined to keep the AFL on the backpage. Not the worst thing having more footy to talk about. Sickening that nobody is interested in coming to us at this stage. One by one all big names are being crossed off the list. Only thing to make it interesting now is if Melbourne decides for whatever reason that they want to use pick two potentially on Myers with an additional player to equalize the deal for them.

But we're not talking about cricket or soccer or politics or anything else are we?
Therefore, it's great.

We have drafted 1 player in the past decade or so that has gone on to become All Australian, and he was a fkn father son pick. Our trading has also been ordinary.
Would love to know why any person associated with the list management of the Essendon Football Club the past decade could be highly regarded. Fk me.

Given your scenario involves shopping out at least 2, more likely 3-4 players...to get 1 kid in...I'll stick with that happy delusion thanks.
I can't recall a club EVER doing 2+ deals to hop up the order. To do so you're going to need 3-4 clubs, and players happy to move. Just won't happen, and going to cause a fair bit of damage along the way.
Bloke just calling in saying that Crameri could be re-thinking leaving.
I am starting to think that he may be doing just that. Considering the money wouldn't be too far apart, the trade will be difficult as Essendon still want to hold on to him as their preference, nothing has been said to suggest we are in talks at all with the Dogs let alone getting close to a deal. Plus I think Bomber becoming coach may just be a bit of a tick for Essendon in terms of player retention and belief as a unit because it will cause the least amount of disruption.
(Hopeful thinking most likely, but hey.)
On this, I believe if a fair deal cannot be done, Crameri will not leave EFC. Just a hunch.

Do you believe that Sheedy curbed and over looked his options when coach and chose the players?
