All things made of wood

The whittle waxes at Carbatec are quality too, I just haven’t used them.

So, build coming along nicely. If you are wondering where the joined wood is, it’s under the lid

Not sold on the legs though. Doesn’t seem ‘classy’ enough. Legs are detached right now though so can always make something else.

Also thinking if I should do cup holders into the top piece in the corners or do those foldy outy ones.

Nice work, SN.

I like the legs. Round over the edges and see what you think

Sanding those legs were also a pain in the ass. Just when you think your done there’s one face you missed. Hope you noticed the round over as well.

I had to look closely. I think you could go harder on those round overs to really soften those lines, but otherwise this is a super functional build.

You went with the massive tin. That would last me for years!

Was cheaper than buying half size locally…

Thursday evening ebonising some timber using homemade iron acetate and turning and carving a few little ramekins.

How was everyone else’s evening?

Do you fill those cracks or just leave them for character?

Leave for character. Any fillings just make the turning process more complicated and harder

RACIST!

First coat done. Not as contrast as I wanted with the highlight wood. Top is very contrasty though!

It’s winter so does it need more coats? :stuck_out_tongue:

Does this offend you, @Soulnet ? Asking for a friend.

Seriously the timber came up great. Definitely made too much iron acetate though

Usual blitz joke with regards to racist. What you got against white wood?

Pops a bit more after second coat. Recond it needs a third? How do you judge?
