Absolute classics from many years ago: Le Mans starring Steve McQueen Downhill Skier starring Paul Newman. They have dated but the action and cinematography is brilliant.Do you mean Downhill Racer with Robert Redford and Gene Hackman made in 1968? Pretty good, but not a great.
CJ, yep you are right Downhill Racer. Agreed the plot is very thin but the skiing shots and production is good.
I bought a box set of ESPN films, 30 different stories by 30 different directors. Had briefly seen one of them on tv before and thought it looked ok.
Watched the first one this arvo- it was all about Allan Iverson. Not being a big basketball fan i had no idea who he was, found it absolutely fascinating. Really well put together. The guy sure had a very interesting life. One ting i loved about it was it wasn’t biased at all, told both sides of the story of how he got arrested, the tension in the town etc.
Can’t wait to watch the next one.
