Dont rhink anyone has suggested it should lessen his suspension.
Just that they don4 think his intent was to hit him that high.
But i imagine this will be used as a reason why you shouldn’t lash out and just blindly swing at someone , no matter how much of a pest they’ve been, because as some have mentioned this prolly happens a few times a game and it just lands on the body and no real damage occurs.
This is what happens when ■■■■ goes wrong though. Id be surprised if he gets under 10 weeks though, the look of it will have him out for that minimum
If Gaff was going for the chest and missed, he’s probably lucky it got the jaw and not the throat. Could have been much worse for Brayshaw if his trachea had been damaged or neck broken.
Gaff is going to cop it big time. Don’t reckon he intended to cause the damage or hit the kid as hard as he did. It’s up for debate whether the hit was mistimed or misjudged but the bloke will live with the stain of his actions forever. The look / consequences have backed the AFL into a corner, hence a suspension in the region of 10+ weeks (is there a limit on weeks with the current grading system?) would not surprise. Like the footballer but no sympathy for the bloke on this occasion.

Should get 6 weeks, not in the play but also not from behind. I just saw the hit from Conca on D Smith from behind and that had the potential to be a hell of a lot worse.
