Andrew Welsh - back to the Wooosha times

Agreed. I suspect this is why he is keen for Hinkley. It fits the right people in right places mould.

I think that’s a pretty shallow view. Referencing simply the on field results in a 3 year window doesn’t necessarily reflect progress of the club as a whole.

Our S&C was diabolical 3 years ago. And frankly, has been for >20 years. We now look like having the best in the comp or thereabouts. We wait and see.

Our recuiting manager was ■■■■■■■ useless 3 years ago and had been in the job for over 20 years. We have now have someone new. Too early for anyone to say if Rosa will be a success. But literally anything other than Dodoro has to be a step forward.

Our last 2 drafts are the first drafts in ■■■■■■■ ages that I would label a success. The draft does not correlate to instant wins, but long term success. And we are investing, albeit not solely, in the draft in the short term at the very least.

I’m not Bullish on Brad. But we have definitely taken steps forward as a club in the past 3 years. Whilst we are ■■■■ on field right now, and will be next year, does not mean the club as a whole is going backwards.

I’m genuinely excited about what Welsh can bring to the club, even though to be fair, just about everyone I’ve been excited about over the past 20 years has ended up disappointing. But Welsh feels different.

He’s young, ambitious, and not your typical club president. He’s an ex-player with strong Essendon ties who’s earned his way to the top through business smarts, not off the back of being a star on the field. So far, I’ve been impressed by how he carries himself, and if he can land a good Merrett deal and wear the heat for backflipping, it’ll show he’s both selfless and shrewd, the kind of leader who genuinely puts the club first.

It’s just good for a change to have someone under the age of 50 and not have a dinosaur as our president

Brad Green esque

The last remaining weak link is BS - most of the other issues have been dealt with over recent years. BS will not last under the Welsh regime unless he radically changes the game plan and competitiveness of the list. Even then he will hopefully not last!

That pic…

Absolute dog acts all over the ground by the hawks.

I wouldn’t be upset to see them finally get the payback they fully deserve.

Well guess he did play in our last finals win in 2004, and couple of other finals wins before that, but never won a flag or made a GF.

You want him gone even if things Improve?

If it were $500 mil I’d believe he can save us. 400 I’m not so sure.

Totally agree and loved his interview in the herald sun.. seems self made , dedicated to the dons and a hands on sort of guy , but I guarantee you…
Some wankers here will put hate on him

Yep, I don’t see him as our next premiership coach.

It’s classic clapper Nino, to continue the “Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t”, everytime the club comes out and says something.

You should know by now, that most supporters are done with this club talking the talk.

But yet again, you are a very slow learner (or maybe your just too stubborn to care what anybody else thinks)

You can’t sugar coat the last three years. They have been disastrous on so many levels. Player exodus, no on field results and the club is a laughing stock.

Speak out? He’s not at the club or been there in any capacity for years so he’s simply giving his opinion from the outside & even though I share a lot of it that doesn’t change the fact that it was unhelpful & poorly timed.

What should the club do then?

Some don’t like him because he hasn’t said we are going scorched earth on the list and club and sacking everyone

Player exodus?

Do go on.
