Annual rinsing v Geelong Match Review 2025 (1/2)

i know we are young etc etc, just get such a ■■■■ feeling from supporting this club, feels like we are going nowhere for the 20th year in a row, umps fricken take the mickey with us constantly ( intentional rushed behind anyone? ), commentators and other supporters just laugh at us, we are the butt of jokes from all and sundry. Those that arent laughing at us , pity us. Its just pathetic

We have become so irrelevant, sometimes our games arent even covered on the sports shows, the one main talent we do have ( merrett ) gets ignored by the media simply because he plays for essendon.

Every year a huge run of injuries derail us, the last few years we derail ourselves by somehow forgetting how to play in the back half of the year.

Its just so fricken depressing

Sunday lunch round mums tomorrow. “Why you let your brother treat you like that?”

I hardly turn up to games now the club just drains you away. there is nothing that’s gets me excited for me to make the effort and go watch them play

It’s the same rubbish every week

What side outside of Essendon would any of our current back 6 get a run elsewhere?

Be hard work.

Value add, thanks

The thing that strikes me is that - despite being relatively young - WE ARE SO SLOW. We must have the slowest list in the AFL by far.

One million agreement points on the turnovers. I’d also add in forward structure, kick out strategy.

But aside from PANDO, we had precisely zero first choice players in our backline tonight. And Merrett in there is a Farking disaster, we need to abandon that stupidity.

The team on the park tonight should have lost by what it did or more, I reckon. First year players, brand new MSD blokes, youngsters that should have been rested but are needed…

I reckon we got off lightly.

Any time.

We are considered a minnow club to them and probably have been now for nearly 20 years. I don’t even think that they even take us seriously anymore.

I think it would have been more valuable to sub on Hobbs, Tsatsas or another kid into that last quarter than Perkins.

The cats were always going to slice us up.

I’m sure you know what I’m referring to?

Essnedon has endured bad patches in its history… the last being in the '70s

We were not as bad as that then. Nor in previous bad patches in the '30s. Without looking at the records, I will go out on a limb to say that we never had such a lop-sided record in the 50+ years before that.

The worst record in the history of what otherwise was the most successful club in the competition before PJ stuffed it up.

What a record. Time for BS and the board who rode him in to resign.

Ok, so can we all just agree that a bottom 3 finish is about the best outcome we can now hope for from this utter waste of another year of all of our lives.

I agree. I can’t stand watching him jog out for us.

I remember people staying Bailey Smith ain’t a good kick, I beg to differ gave silver service.

With our 2 first in a comprised draft to look forward too lols

So i take it May and Blakiston aren’t the saviours?

I think he benefited from quite a few of his horrendous disposals resulting in wins or goals for Geelong because of bad bounces / bad opposition

They were so out of their depth it wasn’t funny. May looked green as fark on the telly
