So he should. The fact that no President from any political party has ever done anything about guns in the US is the crime here. To go and arrest these parents and not the living parents of every other mass shooter is ridiculous.
Then crime would increase
You can go to jail for being a bad parent essentially.
There has to be some kind of leeway for parents what if you dont have a mentally unstable kid and he happens to get a gun and go on a rampage with out the parents not having a clue
Thats a good idea, Tax them out of peoples hands. Just like we have with tobacco. Call it the Firearm Impact Tax, the taxes then go directly to victims, firearm education and the like. Slowly bump it up over time.
Tax the ammunition, the accessories, scopes. Bring down the prices and even subsidise gun cases and safes to incentivise those that have weapons, store them safely.
Eh but what do we know…
The issue is that there are guns.
There is leeway. In this case the parents were warned repeatedly about the schools concerns and they did nothing. If they tried to do something or they legitimately didn’t have a clue, they would not have been charged.
Yeah that farked them was more referring to future cases
Congress passes legislation. They have done nothing.
There answer is always we need more guns or blaming it on mental illness
And cant forget our thoughts and prayers
I agree. But the President can’t make laws.
It’s mind blowing that you have polticains in congress and the NRA continually turning a blind eye to it like how may children dying and mass shootings need to happen before they realise “we wont stand for this anymore we need to stop it”
Not mind blowing when you see how much money the NRA makes from members, donors and sponsors - and then they pass these funds through to politicians as lobby fees. The circle just loops out with no one wanting to close it off.
The best thing that started happening was donors and sponsors of the NRA getting publicly named and shamed.
Okay. After all of about, oh I dunno, maybe 45 seconds of thought. What about they just give out a free ‘gun of your choice’ in the USA with every cheeseburger meal deal.
Bullets, well, that’s different. They have a shelf life, and they’re now $5,000 for each bullet, and you require a court order process to buy one.
Anyone caught making their own ammunition. 10 years jail .
Anyone caught making ammo for others. 20 years jail.
Anyone caught importing or smuggling illegal ammo. 30 years jail.
Bring back prohibition I say.
A roofing company in the US were offering a free gun for thanks giving as a promotion if you purchase a new roof for your house
Wtf lols
Great idea but madness to use that name.
Either a generic name, or something like Freedom Tax
Great idea but madness to use that name.
Sounded like a well fit name to me.
The GVA ultimately records 248 shootings over the Easter holiday weekend — at least 90 people killed and 228 more wounded.
There have already been 4,138 deaths linked to gun violence across the United States in 2024, according to independent research organisation the Gun Violence Archive (GVA).
Among those killed, 355 were children and teenagers. More than 350 incidents were “unintentional”.
Waiting for Jimmy Kimmel to have another monologue where he’s in tears and demanding the people in power to stop gun violence
You can go to jail for being a bad parent essentially.
There has to be some kind of leeway for parents what if you dont have a mentally unstable kid and he happens to get a gun and go on a rampage with out the parents not having a clue
Bloody hell.
They purchased their undersge child with mental issues a gun, didn’t keep it properly stored, then when the school rang them on the day of (correct me if I’m wrong) the shooting and told them to come into the school because your kid has a gun, they left the kid with the gun.
There’s being a bad parent, then there’s being negligent, then there’s being so negligent that you’re a danger to society. These people fall into the last category, and the book should absolutely be thrown at them.
Some sort of leeway for parents with mentally ill kids you say? Big brain idea, don’t buy them a ■■■■■■■ gun and ammo
Yeah in this case I totally agree was referring to in future cases on how they handled it going forward.
