An AFL season is such a brutal war of attrition. Looking around at some games this weekend and the injury toll teams are racking up, it really is about the strength of your top 30 players rather than your ideal best 22 isn’t it. It’s clear that the ability of the likes of Hams, Browne, Jerrett, Dempsey, Fantasia, Kav, Mckernan/Giles, Dalgleish etc to come in feel ready and actually contribute is vital to us being a genuine contender. Plus a bit of luck helps.

i tend to never watch the prisoners so could someone tell me how tall they are? As in could we afford to bring in extra height? Ie Giles or mckernan?

I’m not sure about playing Ashby after 2 weeks in the vest. Might need some match fitness in the 2’s. Though I think he has been fantastic.
Why ashby out? Has been terrific when he’s come on, hasn’t set a foot wrong. For mine he starts on the ground and he’s earnt it, demps comes in for ■■■■ and dempsey starts as sub, or possibly gleeson

I would think one of Hams or Kav would be next in line from the great preseason they apparently had, if Dempsey is not ready.
