Am a “Telstra Gold Tier” member, whatever that means (was stupidly hoping it might mean something when ordering!), and have tried to place an order three times now through them for the iPhone 16 Pro Max since pre-orders opened last night at 10pm … and about halfway through the online order I get the “Something went wrong” message - whether using the app or website.
Predictably must be some high level demand (?) so might wait a couple of weeks…
Not the same thing, but I made my purchase last night easily/quickly enough from the Apple site (despite there being some queueing controls in place that held me back for a minute or so).
What exactly did you order? My preference would be the Pro in white with 512gb storage, but I need to get it by the end of September at the latest and I saw a report that the whites could be later than that. Also I don’t know what difference it makes ordering that much storage. I don’t need it now, but with every previous phone I’ve been struggling with storage after a couple of years even though the phone had twice as much as my previous one.
I’ve just ordered the Pro in silver titanium with 512GB through Telstra on a 36 month plan. They told me I should definitely have it by the 20th but I don’t have a lot of confidence in the guy I was talking to. I’ll be pretty peed off if its not with me before I go overseas late on the 1st, because that’s the main reason I’ve bought it.
Went into the Warrnambool store this morning. I had an open order, which was simply my previous phone (14 Pro)'s purchase expiring.
Anyhow, got it sorted.
I too was frustrated by the process failing and not telling me what technological sin I’d committed to cause the failure. That irks me somewhat, and is quite common.
If you have ordered it as a delivery and they have told you it will be ready on the 20th then 99% chance it will be. We allocate extra staff just to do Telco deliveries that day and if in regional you will get them on Saturday
You can pre order to be delivered to your home or business address. Our guys start delivering at 8am and most stores open at 9am and with the rush some weren’t getting them until the afternoon whereas home delivery had them before lunch
Just got a call saying that my iPhone 16 Pro is available for pickup. When I’ve done that I’ll drop in at JB and get them to replace the airpods that I bought there a week ago, the left one of which has decided to stop working.
