Mine was delivered at 10am
Already is.
I take the cautious approach with major version upgrades (aka ios18). Usually wait 3-4 weeks as there is usually a bug release shortly after.
I always download upgrades on the first day, and then spend the next few weeks on forums to find out that others are having the same problems and that it is just a bug.
I also approach each new football season with a similar optimism
Delivered this morning.
Setup process is a lot easier than it used to be… but still painful.
Visually not much difference to the 14 Pro Max I have upgraded from.
I forgot to unpair my watch before deleting the old phone’s contents and struggling to pair the new phone and the watch.
And also the CarPlay dongle, although paired, is telling me I’m not logged in.
I picked mine up this afternoon and I’m now waiting for the data on the old phone to migrate to the new one. It seems to be taking a while, but then I guess there’s a lot to transfer and sort into order.
Transfer seems to be taking a very long time. I’m going from an iPhone 12 128GB to a 16 Pro 512 GB. I’m just using the default method of placing the two phones next to each other and letting them do their thing. It’s taken well over an hour so far. Does anyone know how long it should take?
I lasted about 40 minutes with the “place your old device near your new one” method (I’m sure somebody with a lot more knowledge than I could give the official term) and then couldn’t be bothered waiting any longer, so stopped it and then just setup through iCloud. Another 30-40 minutes later and it was fine.
When you say you set up through icloud, did that include getting all the data from the old phone. I want all my email history and downloads and so on.
Yep. Just make sure you do a iCloud backup beforehand.
SO got upgraditis, so I think we’ll go with the 15. Can’t justify the 16, but please let me know if better ideas
$1,250 and tax deductible.
I might take the plunge & upgrade from iPhone 8 to 16. But I hate spending money.
Can you usually get Black Friday discounts on latest model iPhones at JB or Good Guys?
I think apple products are the skinniest margins with most retailers. Even less likely on the latest release.
Maybe just get a ‘discount’ when it’s a price drop for the lower models, or some other promo.
Usually all the latest stuff is on OzBargains
Yeah, I know… it’s a new phone/battery and all… but this is definitely the most impressive battery life I’ve had on a new phone.
Taken off charge at 8:30am this morning and been in pretty frequent use right throughout the day and still on 82% battery.
I bought a Macbook Air about 3 years ago with 256GB of storage, which I thought was plenty. It wasn’t, and for about the last 6 months I kept getting alerts that storage was almost full. So I bit the bullet and traded in the old one on a new 15" Macbook Air with a terabyte of storage. Hopefully that’ll last me somewhere about 7-10 years.
I must say it’s a beautiful computer.
Storage space on a computer is like owning a garage.
No matter how big you make it, you will always fill it with something. They are never big enough.
Apple, like most big companies are really pushing people to buy into their cloud storage. sus the cost of increasing storage on the mac mini, which looks a supreme little device otherwise.
Thunderbolt to External HD, go as big as you like
Thunderbolt 5 80Gb per second, both ways, all your start up, necessary software on the SSD
yeah sure, but flash storage is nowhere near that expensive.
