Appliance Buying Guide: What's good and stuff

Funnily enough @BLOODSTAINED_DEVILS i now need a Bluetooth keyboard.

I might get this model as I’m trying to find one that works well switching between Mac and PC even if it is a small size.
(My need is not portable)

Yeah, I’ve got a K380. It’s nice. Compact, but is easy to type on (doesn’t feel like a mini-keyboard). Only complaint is that it takes a few seconds to wake up and reconnect, whereas the Apple wireless keyboard is much quicker.

Did also pick up and confirm just like @The_New_Coleman it’s a good little keyboard.

Solid construction, great for mac/IOS and PC stuff.(connect to anything pretty much)

Was needing to upgrade my home wifi setup but thought that Googles mesh system at $500 for 3 nodes was a bit steep. Looked at some power line adapters but would have needed several to cover house & backyard.

Now I’m not normally a Kogan buyer but came across this on sale for $129 https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-wifi-ac1200-whole-home-mesh-3-pack/

Have to admit the setup was an absolute breeze and I easily get 5Ghz coverage throughout my whole house and backyard. The online reviews stack up as well

I’m looking to add a Bluetooth adapter to my old stereo for my home gym. Just want to be able to stream music from my phone (I currently have a lightning to rca cable).

Can anyone recommend a half decent Bluetooth adapter? Nothing too cheap and nasty from eBay and not high spec either.

Hmmm.

Not sure what they are, assuming it’s just a Bluetooth receiver that can then work as aux input…

How much you want to pay, and what’s the sound quality of your stereo.

I went the other way and have been really happy with this

Megaboom 3 = $230

Drop proof, water proof, floats and pretty decent sound quality.

They have a bigger one too which is recently launched and bigger again but costs $450-$500 and not as robust only splash period.

Maybe try and get a Chromecast audio second hand on eBay.

I’m also pretty sure it your stereo receiver has a HDMI input then you can just use a standard Chromecast and stream audio through there.

logitech make one that does a good job. usually runs about $50 depending where you shop.

I used being in quarantine as an opportunity (excuse) to buy myself a present. I chose a smeg toaster to match my kettle. I’m fairly certain it won’t arrive before I am set free. Nevertheless, I’m super excited about it.

Also if your IPhone. Another decent bet to take a look at is an old Apple TV. You can pick up a second generation one on gumtree for like 30 dollars.

Fancy toast
I just went for the ald1 specials this week. Delonghi toaster and kettle. Keeping them in the box until I move in 6 weeks so can’t review

They’ll be great for you. I got the smeg kettle as a gift last year so I needed to match the toaster.

Cheers. But I don’t want to buy another stereo as I have plenty of hi fi, just wanting to add Bluetooth to my old stereo via RCA

Hope the kettle’s better than the Sunbeam I got a couple of years ago. Noisy, and gets to boiling and goes on for a good 5-10 seconds before shutting down. Drives me bonkers.

Doesn’t have HDMI and the old chromecast audios have been discontinued and fetching prices higher now than what they went for when available

Don’t know if junk but I think a Bluetooth DAC might be what your after?
