Ignore old post. Sorries.

Yeah that Sony is pretty nice, and actually has ok sound, it might be last years model(?) but also a bit pricey for me right now.

I think $2K is still a pretty good price point for me

Pretty harsh review to drop it fourth because it score low on SD picture and the remote control, two of the least important features to worry about. Remove them and the Sony is the clear winner.

I’m going to get an LGOLEDC65G4 when the discount hit at Black Friday or Christmas. It’s already hit $3895 twice.

Fair call.

Wonder how many people use the interface? I’ve always found the m to be clunky, plus just end up using AplleTV

This the Aldi version?

I’m looking at the Bravia 8. Hopefully Black Friday sales are good.

I hated the interface at first but the netflix app is so much better than the apple tv version. I also installed smartTube instead of using youtube, no ads and full res without having to pay for youtube premium.

Everything else i use the appletv.

What’s the best stick vacuum cleaner to buy? I’ve used a top of the range Dyson, and it sucks like a — something that sucks very well and is generally great, but it costs an arm and a leg. Is there anything as good that’s less pricey?

anything non-stick will be better (eg miele)

but if you want stick - Dyson best but upfront cost and replacement parts/batteries are $$$$, LG/Samsung/Miele(sticks) are a decent middle ground and will do the job

there’s not a heap separating them really

don’t get a shark

We have a Dyson but it’s a regular shaped vac. Thing has been relentless for 20 years. Could never recommend anything else’s

When you say regular shaped, do mean the standard two-part type? I really want a one-piece battery model.

Tulare like a regular vacuum. Not a stick.

So it has the motor and dust collection on wheel. Then there’s the hose. Shaft and head part.

Looks like this

I’m sure it’s a great vacuum, but that’s exactly what I want to avoid.

We have tried a number of units at home and in offices. We have Dyson at home, and had LG and another I cannot recall the brand, but all are so inferior to Dyson, that we got rid of them.

Just discovered that you should replace the filters with Dyson (and probably others) every year, and they were cheap on Amazon.

It looks like you can get a pretty good Dyson (not top of the range) for about $400 at Harvey Norman so I might go for that

I got paid to remove a Dyson (because it wasn’t working) and fit a bracket for a new vac. Took the Dyson home and got a new battery on Amazon for $35. So far so good. Luckily haven’t broken any parts that can’t be replaced with knock offs.

I swear by my roomba, only have to do corners of rooms every so often

Did you end up buying the Bravia 8? If so I would be interested to know your opinion, as I will be looking at a new OLED after Christmas.
