When did you come back out
I agree. Couldn’t see what the point was.
There’s another one on Amazon - A Private Affair - set in Galicia in the late 40s, early 50s. Considering the fact that the Spanish Civil War had finished 10 years earlier, and was particularly savage across the north, I thought it was funny that there was zero mention of any political situation. Still a good romp, even if it had a crappy ending.
was flicking through movie options, saw this and remembered your post - thank you, I really enjoyed it too! bit soppy, corny, romantic, all the good things!
Watched mission impossible 2 and 5.
2 was a bit average. 5 was decent, especially the female lead ? Fergusson. Always good to see a strong female character cracking skulls.
It’s also got everything you need from any Tom Cruise movie
Running scene
Abs scene
Hair looks amazing scene
Yells passionately scene
Clenches jaw scene
Woman finds him irresistible scene
Tom realises he’s going to have to break her heart scene
You left out:
Does insane own stunt
Yes, and you have to lean over to the next person and whisper ‘you know he does ALL his own stunts?’
It’s spooktober so LMW is doing all the horror, and so I just watched Evil Dead for the first time in at least thirty years.
I feel like the version I watched was cut, but super weirdly cut…as in not the worst parts.
It’s dumb. The edits are terrible. The cliches of music and sound effects are…corny…
But gosh it still packs a punch.
It’s just such an archetype.
I watched Jasper Jones (Netflix) last night.
Aussie movie set in the 60’s, sorta coming of age/who done it movie. Set in a small country town, a bit slow pace (just like a small country town) but not that you lose interest. All the characters and actors especially the young guy who played the main character were good.
I have never seen it. Horror really doesn’t interest me as a genre.
Went and watched Lost Coty of Melbourne, funnily enough in one of the cinemas that’s still standing.
It’s a nice look at melbournes pst and despite what’s been lost, also what’s been retained.
Worth a look if you’re a fan of Melbourne town.
Oh yeah this is actually going to be good, even in the trailer Jack Black is going to nail Bowser,
skip to 4.37 for actual trailer
Why? Just don’t watch them if you don’t like them. I love my superhero movies.
Ford v Ferrari just starting on 7. Great movie- Matt Damon, Christian Bale & more! Not just a racing petrol head film. Recommend
They’re a scourge on the industry and sap any creativity out of blockbuster movies. I loathe to think of all the actual interesting action movies that have not been made because studios would rather pump money and time into the 50th iteration of the same superhero franchise.
i reckon we need more action movies like bullet train, weird fun 90 minutes.
So instead of giving the public what they want (which sounds like a sound marketing strategy), the studios should be making stuff like Indiana Jones 5???
Yeah it wasn’t too bad.
I really like Bale in this and a lot of other stuff.
The public are idiots, always have been.
So we should all look to you for our inspiration in terms of what we should like watching?
Given that the rest of us are all idiots??
Was a good movie, didn’t expect to like it but I did.
