At the movies - From the couch

There’s a series…

Watched number 2

More of the same. Like watching a group in an escape room. But the group involves diverted couples who are still hot for each other. And a random funny guy who’s not funny.

A lot of horror buffs are saying this is the best thing to come out in the genre in ages. Got rave reviews at Sundance and picked up by A24 as a result. I cannot wait.

Just got home from seeing Indiana Jones….it’s not good

First 30min is amazing, felt like a proper Indiana Jones movie. Had everything you want from the franchise.

The rest is so flat and quite frankly , boring.

The script is woeful. I can’t believe in the 15 years since the last one they couldn’t of come up with a better script and story

There is waaaaaay too much CGI
The action scenes are very meh
The biggest flaw of the movie by far is the bad guy doesn’t get killed in a cool/gruesome way, he just dies in a plane crash and there was no big fight scene with Indy or his henchman, nothing nada zip. Indy films normally end with a great action set piece wiphich leads to the main villain opening up whatever it is their searching for, which then kills them

3/10, and that’s only because of the first 30min

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a flawed movie, but much better than this

I asked my wife if she wanted to go see this new Indy effort. thanks for the warning, l will look for something else to go see. Not that l was holding out great hopes for this one.

Might be a ‘wait for streaming’ at best then.

As Harrison Ford gets older, I’m waiting for Indiana Jones And That Dodgy Bit Of Footpath Outside The Post Office.

She who must be obeyed has me in covid iso in the bedroom. So watched Chinatown this Arvo.
Massive performance from Jack Nicholson. Next to it on Stan is Deliverance, so that’s tonight’s offer before the cricket.

A few commenta i’ve read is that her character Helena Shaw is an ■■■■■■■■/over the top annoying towards Indy through out the movie did you see it that way?

I’ll be going on tuesday to see for my self if it’s any good but yeah I’m not expecting much.

Yep riding off into the sunset was a perfect ending to a great trilogy.

I respect Robert Zemeckis he dosent see the need to make another BTTF movie or rebooting the fanchise its perfect the way it is.

As long as he’s alive no one in Hollywood will be touching BTTF franchise.

she was pretty annoying at times, felt her and Ford didn’t have much chemistry

Took the boys (11 & 9) to watch the Transformers movie. They loved it. I was not entirely bored by it.

Good grief, no.
Commando was a steaming heap of crap from start to whenever it was when l turned it off. So glad l didn’t pay to go see it. The word ridiculous is the perfect descriptor for Commando, what a stinker!

Commando is a classic. Possibly the greatest cheesefest movie ever. You know it’s not supposed to be a serious movie right?

The hilarious montage at the start of the movie basically let’s you know that. Arnold awkwardly feeds a deer, eats ice cream with his daughter, carries an entire tree with one arm etc. It’s basically a wink from the director to the audience.

Chinatown is a really great movie. Whatever you may think of Polanski as a person, he’s a great director. If you haven’t seen Rosemary’s Baby, you should, and if you can find one of his earliest, Repulsion, it’s really worth a watch. And a lot of his others.

Watching that reminded me of playing Medal of Honour on PS1 with unlimited health and ammo.

Yes! The movie is absolutely ridiculous, but that montage is a classic, my missus was bewildered by it when she saw it for the first time a few years back.
