Something About Mary
It’s not as good as I recall it being, but still worth a laugh, and worth a look. The stalker vibes are a bit strong, but I guess that was the story.
As an X Files fan who has seen every episode of the TV series, tonight was the first time I’d ever sat down and watched the original movie from 1998.
So…was it any good?
I enjoyed it. It is meant to slot in between seasons 5 and 6. Overall a pretty good movie. Certainly helps if you’re a fan of the series but not completely necessary to enjoy the movie. 7/10.
Was a fan, but haven’t had time to go back and watch them again.
It’s more having movies to watch with my kids. Theyre movie buffs, so always looking for something that also has a ‘back story’ that they can dive into.
Are your kids watching Apocalypse Now with you?
16 YO yes, younger one not ready for that genre.
Was more concerned about them watching American Pie
I remember seeing this in the cinema back in the day. Good movie that perfectly slots in between seasons
Both Furiosa and Fury Road are such great movies. Imho Fury Road is an absolute classic.
Apparently Furiosa isnt making a lot of money. Which would be a shame. I hope that its not the end of the Saga for George Miller.
In other words see it. Wikipedia says they spent 165 mill making it but have only recouped 140 mill (USD).
expensive but beautiful art and entertainment imho
Saw furiosa on weekend. I actually enjoyed it more than fury road because it actually had a narrative as opposed to just being pure spectacle.

Waaaaaay too much CGI, Fury Road seemed a lot more real and gritty. This felt way too polished and pretty fake in places
That’s funny, I felt the opposite. Yes there were a good of green screen shots but the colour palette was less hyper saturated and the dust storms felt more real than the hyper real fury road equivalents.
Anyway, WITNESSS!
They are both great. Was a sensational origin story for Furiosa.
I hope George Miller makes more in this “era” or style of Mad Max movies
He has a lot more stories ready to go but wont/cant go forward if they dont make enough money(apparently says the internet)
Seems to be missing something. No cucumbers?
Fantastic Mr Fox is on. So I’ll be doing that now.
Watched Leon: The Professional.
Pretty decent John Wick vibes, but creepy as seeing a 12 YO (Natalie Portman) constantly hitting on the main character.
7.5 out of ten, but it had some obvious low points.
I recently re-watch this, loved it. I think it’s a remake of a French film?
I’ve seen the original version from 1922, which is silent and obviously dated in its style but nevertheless very creepy, and also a remake in the 70s by Werner Herzog, with Bruno Ganz and Isabelle Adjani, which was great. The trailer looks okay, although I couldn’t understand half the dialogue and I could do without the frequent punches of synthetic sound. I’ll seriously consider watching it. I like a good vampire movie. For those who haven’t seen it, have a look at The Hunger, directed by Tony Scott and starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon; it’s a fabulous film.

It has to be a European film remake. Portman is great in it. But the constant offering of her body to the hit man is just too much.
