I remember seeing Hamburger Hill at the cinema and wasn’t that impressed…I’ve often wondered if it was because it followed Platoon and Full Metal Jacket…and suffered (imo) from that?
And for a guy who loves a good war movie, I’ve never seen Casualties of War…go figure.
It’s perhaps the most immersive in the battle scene, but maybe not as interesting as FMJ. They take 10 attempts to get the objective, and it starts as jungle, and ends up as a wasteland.
Characters aren’t as good as in the others, but had some decent action and cinematography. More realistic looking than Platoon.
I was wondering how they were planning on doing an actual sequel, as I’m pretty damn sure Roald Dahl was very specific in his will that the ACTUAL sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, absolutely was not allowed to be filmed under any circumstances.
But holy crap, am I ever unutterably weary of sequels and prequels and expanded universes and further TV adaptations of EVERYTHING. Make something original ffs.
It has such an iconic movie poster, I’d finally got to watch it. Had to fast forward, it’s so bad and cheesy.
Lots of sex references. A guy takes off a fur coat to reveal chest hats just as hairy. They take pills to have simulated six/. They put the lead actor, Jane Fonda in a machine that will pleasure her until she dies, but she has so much power, she kills the machine.
I watched it when it was new. It was “daring” back then, part of the sexual revolution; simply having a woman openly acknowledge that she enjoyed sex just for its own sake was something quite new. So it had all that going for it, but even so, it was supposed to be funny and it just wasn’t.
Didn’t know where else to post but I’ve been watching Paranormal Quest on youtube these guys a really good been enjoying their content. The activity they capture form haunted locations is pretty damm creepy
If your believer in the paranormal I recommend giving these guys a watch
