At the movies - From the couch

Not sure about this one wtf is up with Nathan Fillons hair looks so fake and out of place

Something Quentin Tarantino would say

Yeah, considering Alien is the original I don’t think it being similar to Aliens is really a criticism. It can’t be retrospectively different, haha point of difference is a sequel’s job.

But I get what you mean, you prefer the sequal.

I’d say they are different though and that’s what makes them both so good. Alien is a sci fi monster horror, it’s like haunted house in space, while Aliens is a sci fi action thriller.

Alien we get to see the full gestation of the Alien. also…we shouldn’t underestimate how incredible that is on first viewing. It’s only because the Alien franchise is so engrained in the zeitgeist that we know the facehugger- to chestburst, to adulthood progression. But on first viewing as a kid that blew my mind when I didn’t know what was going to happen.

A Google search turned up what I thought was a believable explanation of the film, where the first part is basically a very long dream/fantasy sequence.

Other “clues” and visual cues are also explained and help to make sense of the whole thing.

Doesn’t look great imo

his suit looks pretty rubbish tbh. Looks like someone’s cosplaying outfit

looks way too overstuffed with a ton of other heroes or villains

a CGI super dog?? meh

Superman as a character is very boring, he has no real weaknesses. The only one I loved was Man Of Steel, and the story of how mankind would react to someone having his power. It was as realistic as you can make it considering that world. Plus the cast was stacked with very good actors which really helps

Superman 2 was pretty good

Yep not a fan of the cotsume either

supermans a very boring superhero anyway.

It’s a great movie, but I can’t get over the scene where the female character, watching on the scanner as the Alien closes in on her comrade, spends too much time crying before warning him at the very last split second that it’s right behind him

Carry-on was surprisingly decent

Yep…never watched any of them.

I’ve been meaning to watch the Godfather movies but just haven’t got around to doing so.

Not fussed about any of the others.

Shawshank Redemption is worth it.

Haha…no…Noonan seems to watch a lot of European movies…when I watch foreign movies, I tend to prefer Asian ones like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

And I’ve watched heaps of the various franchises like Bond, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel etc.

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve been told that, I’d have a fair few dollars…but I’ve never really been into prison movies and so have just not bothered about it.

It’s set in a prison but the focus is on friendship and self worth.

If you’re watching up dish up ■■■■■ at Marvel on Sunday at 4.40pm you’ve got the time to watch this.

Haha…I rarely watch us play these days.

I’ve got a list of movies lined up to watch that I don’t seem to be making much inroads into (something new is always getting added to the list).

Maybe one day
