At the movies - From the couch

Oh dear

After that trailer, I’m all in. Haven’t laughed that hard at a trailer in years. The take a chair bit killed me( perfect naked gun joke)

Liam Neeson will do great in it. He can do comedy. He was in a scene in one of Ricky Gervais shows, was brilliant

Andy samberg is very hit and miss for me. He was very funny in Brooklyn nine mine , but he started to grate after a while. I’m not sure he would be great at playing the straight man

The chair bit was funny.

And while I agree that Samberg might be too goofy to play the role as straight as it needs to be, I don’t see it with Neeson. At all.

And if Naked gun is being done again, there should be a Zucker writing it.

Enjoyable, then a bit confronting, then enjoyable again. Unique film, the Danes are an interesting bunch.

Fair enough. Neeson has been good in the small comedic cameo’s he has had. He’s great at playing the super serious role when surrounded by insanity

When I heard that we’re doing a reboot/sequel I was very wary. But the trailer was so much better than what I was expecting

If it’s as bad as the first, then I’m in.

I’m not sure if it’s one for the purists though.

28 years later is very good. Absolutely insane in parts, but very good

Definitely more in feel with 28 days than 28 weeks

I certainly did not expect to see so much zombie dong

Good stuff I’m going to see it this week.

After coming out of 28 years later, thought it was pretty good. But I really didn’t like the ending.

No spoilers, the movie is still worth a watch.

F1 is the best movie I have seen this year. And I say this as someone who isn’t interested in car racing at all

Really good story

The driving scenes are insane to see( it almost rivals the maverick plane flying scenes for me) on the big screen

Learnt a bit about formula 1 too. Had no idea so many tactics were involved in it. Really fascinating to see and also see how much money is invested in the cars and teams.

After watching top gun, I can see why so many people love to fly. After watching F1 I can see why so many people love driving

With so many movies departed, gangs of ny, irishman, sharktale, aviator & casino.
They are good movies.
Still waiting for The Wager to come out.

I’ll likely go see F1. But if they have to dumb it down for Americans, and explain everything like it’s a marvel or Harry Potter movie it’ll be cringe.

I can just see Brad Pitt learning about DRS early in the movie, and then miraculously using it to overtake the bad guy on the final lap…

Was going to share this but you beat me to it. Seems to be more in line with the original storyline of Stephen Kings short story from the trailer but looks to have taken some parts from the Schwarzenegger film perhaps to cash in on the fans nostalgia of the 80s movie.

I was sure I remembered us discussing that it needed to be made, and Edgar Wright is a pretty solid choice to make it.
I agree that the trailer looks like it’s having a bit both ways, and it’s definitely not the dark and gritty realistic (for a movie) version that some would prefer.
I’m getting a slight original Robocop vibe, too, which is good.

I dunno…as much as we all want to see it redone, it feels like a very difficult movie to get right.
