At the movies - From the couch

Disclosure day is very good

Like a mix between, x files, minority report and conspiracy theory

My only issue with it. Don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled

there better be a sequel. As right as the movie ends, THATS the movie I want to see. Or if you are going to end it with just “listen” you need to have it end in either we come in peace or some kind of declaration of war. Hopefully he does a sequel, otherwise the move becomes immensely frustrating

I enjoyed Toy Story 5. Got a bit emotional in a couple of parts too

Did it need to be made, probably not. But I enjoyed it, and liked the message behind it

Hope you came out of it a bit more cheaply than this poor bloke.

15 gbp would be about right for a multiplex here on a Fri/Sat night I think.

How on earth did he put away 16 Stella’s?

Obviously the kids helped…

There were two adults in the party, so perhaps they had a manageable eight each.

Inspired by a certain World Cup result today, I watched ‘In Bruges’ for the first time tonight.

Both of these things were very enjoyable indeed.

Obsession is so, so good.

The 2 leads…wow

Some genuine unsettling scenes, and a hard watch generally.

Amazing what has been achieved with a shooting and production budget of 750k - 1mill

LMW insists I watch it.

It’s good.

It has become very overhyped though.

Which isn’t the film’s fault.

Do it.

Even if the movie is not quite for you, it’s an interesting exercise deciding what you would wish for if given the same opportunity.

I’m being deliberately vague so as to not give away spoilers.

Appreciate that.

LMW has said that it’s what Don’t Worry Darling tried to be but failed. Which is…interesting. But no more info, please.

Have a bowl of mussels for dinner as well? :face_savoring_food:

I did hear of an oyster that was dancing at a disco … and pulled a mussel.

Toy Story 5 is very very good against all odds. Go see it. Kids optional.

I won’t spoil it but suffice to say it has one of those trademark Pixar “there’s something in my eye” moments.

Against all the odds?

Every Toy Story has been good what ya talking about Michael Burry?

were you shorting Pixar again?

Finally found the time to watch Anora lastnight. Really different film that I would group with Marty Supreme/Uncut Gems where there is no slow moments from start to finish.

Genuinly funny as well, I can see why it won an academy award. The leads were great but I thought the supporting cast stole the show.

A Russian oligarch son marries a dancer he just met in NY. It all unravels when the parents find out.

I just meant that I can’t think of a 5th movie in any series that’s good (especially after a 10 year break in between)

Project Hail Mary. Tediously terrible, bloated and full of plot holes.

Disclaimer : The Martian is one of my favourite films ever. It’s nothing to do with space or sci-fi genres.

yeh i saw it a few weeks ago when opened a big improvement on the last couple.
