Cool, really confronting, was trying to pick the locations in Tas, loved how Launceston had the road into it whilst Hobart was still the convict settlement.
I am over 50 now so generic
Location/scenery was beautiful. Didn’t know any of the actors and storyline was haunting.
I know a lot of people aren’t keen on Aussie movies but this one was different. Deserves a look.
Yes, very in your face, better than most movies I have seen in a long while, seen a lot of movies, this one is right up there.
Could of been a Tararntino movie, the director did so well
Amazon Prime.
I’ve got Foxtel, Stan, Disney+ and Netflix.
And I have a serious objection to paying a subscription fee to something without live tv and then paying a hire fee on top of that, Amazon Prime.
Again, do you want piracy?
Because this is how you get piracy.
Edit: And Spotify, or course. Funny how musicians are just expected to wear it. Tour and make your money on t-shirts.
Love to see how that would work for actors.
I’ve got it not just for the streaming element, I use the prime free delivery quite often. Annual fee of 59 bucks is a no brainer.
I’ve never used the hire feature on Amazon and the movie in question, “the nightingale” is not a “hire” either.
Even so, I’m not shelling out for a fifth streaming service.
We used to laugh at the UK’s tv tax and the US’s cable.
I’m starting to think the old video shop’s five weekly movies for ten bucks wasn’t such a bad deal.
Whatever this is, it’s not sustainable.
Edit: keep forgetting Spotify. Sixth.
I here ya Wim. Currently I’m subscribed to Netflix (US), Hulu (which includes ESPN, Disney, Showtime and HBO Max), ATV+ and Apple Music, Amazon Prime, Optus Sport and Kayo.
Sure, It adds up. But I justify that, I no longer go to the theatres to see movies, I don’t need to torrent constantly like I once did, I no longer buy ridiculous amounts of DVD’s and Blu-rays like I used to and the fact I can not stomach the trash on free to air TV.
Some great movies coming out on HBO this year,
Unless you’re watching a hell of a lot why subscribe to them all at once. I rotate them, this month l’m watching Kayo for the cricket and Amazon Prime. Halfway through a show called Wayne, which has been good so far.
January l’ll pribably watch Binge for a month and then go back to Netflix in February.
Watched The Fundamentals of Caring & really enjoyed it. Paul Rudd (after suffering a personal tragedy) becomes a caregiver who looks after a teenage boy with muscular dystrophy. They end up taking a road trip together. Some very funny & poignant moments. On Netflix.
Rose Island. A nice Italian movie on Netflix based on a true story.
love the sound tracks
There’s nothing quite like owning the physical copy of a great movie. I will never go down the pay to watch option when I still have the choice of buying a Steelbook of a classic movie.
Same with music, vinyl or burn my own CDs with my choice of music.
Watched Johnny mnemonic.what a truly terrible movie. Just behind 47 ronin as the worst keanu film
Watched the remake of the Italian job- pretty entertaining popcorn movie
Watched the remake of the Alamo - billy bob thornton was the biggest name in it. The main battle had nothing on the original. Plus they shot it at night so it didn’t nearly have the same impact. Original was way better
How fortunate you never saw The Day The Earth Stood Still. Because at least 47 Ronin and Johnny Mnenomenic are sort of watchable in a trash b-movie sort of way.
I saw that, it was better than the 2 I mentioned. But not still not a good movie
