At the movies

I liked the movie Sully. A league of their Own.
Apollo 13. Gump. Sleepless in Seattle. Big.
Saving Mr Banks. Catch me if you Can.

Yep, I loved that at the time.
Not sure if I’d get many laughs out of it now though.

What an utter miscarriage of justice that Wilson was never given his own Sequel.
Perfect set up for it, but alas, nothing for nearly 20 years.
A travesty I tell ya !

Don’t forget that Tom Hanks is the star of two the most critically acclaimed movies ever - Toy Story and the masterful Toy Story 3.

Pffft.

That last one isn’t even the best 3 going round

I always thought Se7en, probably at the top end of films with numerical titles, should’ve had at least a sequel, a 2 if you like. Maybe Gwyneth’s head meets Wilson in Mexico and they go on a killing spree?

Ei8ht is a thing.
Freeman said yes, literally everyone else said, ā€˜Wait…what? Did you…did you see the end of Se7en?’

I saw green book last night.

I agree with those who have already reviewed it. It is a fantastic film with wonderful performances from Mortensen and Ali.

I will be interested to see who wins the best actor award as Mortensen is superb in this. I have seen Bohemian Rhapsody and Vice and while Bale and Malek put in great performances in those films I think there was greater depth to Mortensen’s performance. I’d be interested in what others think.

You don’t like Toy Story 3? Get out of town

best Hanks films for mine:

The Burbs
Youve got mail
Apollo 13
Road to Perdition
Cast Away
Philadelphia
Saving Private Ryan
Toy Story

Worst:
Forest Gump
Ladykillers
Da Vinci Code
Sleepless in Seattle
Green Mile (just too damn depressing)

Has had a lot more hits than misses in his career

Forgot Bridge of Spies. That and Road to Perdition were both quite good films with good turns from Hanks. And he was very good in Philadelphia. His Everyman, guileless mug is a blessing and a curse. When he makes you forget about it he’s at his best and that’s also down to script.

I’m a big fan of Tom Hanks and have rarely been even slightly disappointed when I’ve watched one of his movies.

Cloud Atlas was a bit strange and some of his early stuff like The Money Pit were poor but there aren’t many actors out there who can roll out a list of movies to compare with him.

How anyone could not like Forrest Gump is just beyond my capacity to understand…the movie was great and he was brilliant in it.

But that’s just my opinion
