At the movies

I watched Gravity last night.

Must of had to have seen it on the big screen, because my thought when it ended was "oh".

me too.

Gravity was very very average. Looked cool, that was about it.

Yep.
My Mrs said "Is that it?"

I said "yeh"

Then I fell asleep.

Sounds like you guys were having sex not watching gravity

You sound like you're doing it wrong then.

I thought of how they could improve Gravity last night when I was watching Thor - The Dark World...........................George Clooney floats away to Asgard.  Heists one of the casinos there with Loki and the Chinese guy or something.

Saw 300 - Rise of an Empire last night. I just needed something light, with blood and naked women.

And that's really all it gives you. Typical rendition of a graphic novel, Sin City style.

Eva Green dropped her kit as expected...the whole Xerxes as god thing was tripe. Lena Headey from GOT played the same sort of role as Leonidas's widow.

If I could warn people away from only one movie this year it's Lars von Trier's turgid lump of pretension Nymphomaniac. If I want to hear ■■■■ dialogue, see poor acting, and oh so shocking "real" sex scenes I'll stick to ■■■■. This film is ■■■■■■■ terrible.

I've been target watching movies based on graphic novels and comics i've read years ago. Been pretty happy to date.
Didn't read the 300 series even though Miller is one of my favs.
Loved Sin City though.
Others I've watched that did well to portray the novel/comic include:
Unbreakable
Tank Girl
Road to Perdition
Iron Man/s (although not all great films, RDJ is John Stark)
V for Vendetta
And of course, Nolan's Batmans
Edit: any recommendations?

I hated sin city, did nothing for me.
Haven't seen tank girl, but all the others listed are very good. Unbreakable is a very underrated film, "they called me mr glass"
Have you seen watchmen?awesome film. Has IMO one of the best opening sequences of all time

Yeah Watchmen is very good.

Mystic River

Gone Baby Gone

Shutter Island is by the same author, but since the ending in the book was so ■■■■■, I refused to see the movie.

The Lincoln Lawyer

Shutter island is my favourite Leo movie.

Never really a

Liked mystic river.

Should watch Prisoners with Hugh Jackman, his daughter goes missing. Just came out on dvd

I read a LOT of crime fiction and usually by halfway through, I think "if they end up with this solution, I'll think it's utter tripe"...Shutter Island did. I don't care if Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart and Marilyn Monroe (naked) came back from the dead to appear in it, I wouldn't watch it.

And Lehane's written some ripper books. He did a follow-up nine or ten years later to GBG.

I assume you've seen Insomnia.

Also how fkg annoying are all these jokes and all this coverage given to the fact that Leo Di Caprio has never won an Oscar. Honestly who gives a flyer

Choosing between Dallas buyers club and captain Phillips for tonight, which is the one to go for?

With Marilyn Monroe naked? Really. C'mon, you'd watch that, wouldn't you? It's not as though you'd be following the plot line anyway, is it?
