AUS SLOP

Yes, what’s up with that place?

Everytime work announces a national meeting or workshop in Brisbane you should hear the groans grizzle’s on the conference calls.

Daryl Braithewaite horses is still elite, got to watch him live a couple of years ago and crowd loved it.

I can’t remember the last time I had a democracy sausage.

If you’re not voting early you need to re-evaluate your life choices.

does brisbane go on the list?

i’ve never heard someone say they’re going to brisbane without also including the words “have to”

maybe add the qualifier “when sung by crowds of people who are not at a daryl braithewaite gig”?

Actually, I think I still say that:joy:

Brisvegas might be a worthy addition

I don’t regard “not happy, Jan” as worthy of inclusion. Great ad, together with a lot of Telstra ads back in those days, and not overdone.

  • “Look at moi”
  • Tall poppy syndrome
  • Getting drunk on public holidays (Australia Day and ANZAC Day)
  • ABC television show actors and comics, feels like weekend at bernie’s

I hate that song. Always have.

this is probably topical, but I would add triple j hottest 100.

once they moved it from australia day, faded a little, but probably more as got older as well and stop listening to jjj

k&k impressions straight on

these two need exploring i think. is it just these two holidays? because being drunk on boxing day is elite. and are we going abc panel shows or scripted or what? feels too broad at the moment

Sophie Monk
Kate Langbroek
Fifi Box
Australian versions of British shows
You’re The Voice (sorry, but it just is)

In her defense, I can think of at least two things I like about Sophie Monk

Came here to say exactly this. He’s was this before he even hit TV. Trotting out the same gag about being on Centrelink and having a race between oxygen and bong smoke for years, at gigs he seemed to be gifted because he was clearly devoid of any talent.

interesting

being disinterested in something we’re not in the target audience for is just the thing working as intended

however, people who never listen to triple j complaining that the list didn’t have enough australian artists/female artists/metal/etc etc - like come on man

Ok then…
Sophie Monk - a bogan chick with absolutely nothing of interest to say. Inane slop.
Kate Langbroek - the female equivalent of Dave Hughes. Whiny, and more tiresome than annoying.
Fifi Box - a smart girl (I was friends with her brother at school) who’s made a career putting on a dumb blonde persona.
Aus versions of British shows - they’re slop. Universally so. All inferior.
You’re The Voice - a faux “Aussie anthem” written by a cast of overseas songwriters. Yawn.

That low, deep voiced guy on all the channel 9 tv show promo ads that claim that the new series of show x is “the best series ever” of that show

Yeah right, as if we’re all sitting there think holy ■■■■, they’ve topped themselve AGAIN??? How much better can the block get???

this is good. so its the ads, not the shows themselves, that go on the list

One Day International cricket (ODIs).

I used to love watching it. Now, meh.
