Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

Given how the senate election is tracking, any leadership challenge could be settled by a coin toss.

Or equally Pauline going “fk off Malcolm, it’s my name on the signs”.

How did the Nats go in their heartland of Queensland and in other States?
IIRC they lost a couple in Queensland, no gains in Victoria.
And now no representation at all in the NT after their poster girl defected.

Is it normal for the Nat Party leader to sit in the Senate?
Barnaby Joyce moved from the Senate to further his career. Other Senators with leadership ambitions have run for the House.

She’s perfect for Taylor’s leadership ticket.

Get Darren Chester to lead them. That bloke is a legend.

Not sure if he’s still around??

Karvelas said that she could see a genuine split in the Liberal Party.

Said that she has spoken to Moderate Liberal MP’s who are refusing to follow Angus Taylor, and are furious with Nationals dictating the direction of the Liberal party…… now even worse with the Price deflection to the Libs.

She said there is a genuine battle between the Moderates who are wanting a push back to the Centre, and the Far-Right who want to follow Trump.

Imagine half of the Libs break away to create another party!

In my folks area McCormack romped it in. The locals in the area absolutely love him which I just find bizarre for a politician

How will the Nats even operate in the Senate, don’t they lose party status and therefore they lose staff and other resources provided by the parliament?

Might not be such a bad thing, could court a few Teals, maybe? Being in the center doesn’t equate with thinking real wages can rise as productivity declines, so plenty of material to use to differentiate from Labour.

She also believes that Tony Abbott has been pulling the strings to get Price to join Liberals.

So what - the coalition becomes an uneasy marriage of slightly woke Liberals/alt-right liberals/Nats? I’m sure they’d all be punching in the same direction! Be like herding cats.

I mean, they do have a problem with Ley if she is truly moderate and trying to steer back to the centre where the ALP are, how does she manage the Nats, and right elements of the libs - now including Price?? Can really only see them drifting right with support from Abbottetc and the Murdoch press, and further reducing their slim relevance.

Tony - a wrecker in opposition, a wreck as PM, now a wrecker again after lessons from the big kids in the US of Arse. Only Christ knows what his secret heart holds, but I’m betting that particular mythical construct based on an ancient furniture salesman sees only darkness.

Interesting. I didn’t realise there were any moderates left in the Lieberal Party: I thought they’d all turned Teal.
