Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

[quote=“dmaplestone, post:395, topic:34645”] I value honesty, morals and authenticity

So you are normal then ! These are traits that most of us cherish, and in my experience are held by Politicians in the same percentage as the rest of the population.

Albo is a honest and decent bloke, and is extremely authentic, what you see is what you get. I have no idea about his morals, but then I judge this aspect by myself, so it is a low bar.

Genuine question for any genuine non voters who are, oddly, deeply interested in and judgemental about the Australian politics and society they shun - surely there’s a single issue you can trace by candidate and order your choices accordingly to best ensure that issue is championed as far as it can be?

For example, disgusted with the utter cowardice, lies and murderous mendacity of the two majors on environmental issues, an otherwise politically disengaged person might, instead of opting out entirely and wasting their tiny voice, easily find out the order in which they can number candidates in house and senate according to their record and credential on the environment.

Such a small effort, but so admirable compared to burying your head in the sand.

I thoroughly researched them this year and not a single one in my electorate was going to get my vote. I briefly considered just filling out the Senate one but again nothing of note there

I suppose you could always go in order of spite.

Anyways, if you chose to have kids, grandkids etc, there’s a stark option you can go for. If you’re a right leaning person maybe it’s obvious. If you’re just a person it’s a different obvious. Hate Media Cartoon can be read two ways depending on your presumably genetic disposition.

If I did that the Labor scumbag would be dead last. I’d vote for the ON and Trumpet farkwits before him

I don’t give a ■■■■ about the individuals, their personalities, their proclivities, it’s what they platform. I don’t care if my accountant is a gerbil fiend, just sort my crap out.

Interviewed on ABC Radio Melbourne by the very polite Ally Moore, Sukkar wouldn’t go along with Dutton labelling the ABC as hate media.
He said that in his experience , ABC treatment of himself was sometimes fair, sometimes unfair. In his view, it was a bit like calling the umpire unfair.
( Maybe there are a few friends of the ABC in his electorate, the most marginal in the country).

Geez I hope that slimy greaseball (Sukkar) gets tipped out.
If I didn’t already think he was a contemptuous prick, the firehosing of snail-mail and TV ad spam I’ve gotten from him this campaign would’ve sealed the deal.

Funny

Smart Energy Council re battery program. Rich multiple airbnb owning, LNP corflute posting, anti trans arsehat at end of my street just covered his house in panels, will be at this scheme like a hungry weasel if ALP win. No brainer really if you want something to vote for. It’s where things are going, it’s in your own self interest etc.

“ This election is a sliding doors moment for Australia. One side of politics wants Australia to be at least 82% renewables by 2030 with a strong battery rebate program. The other side of politics wants to cap renewables at 54% by 2050 (we’ll be at 54% by the end of next year) and slash nearly every significant renewable energy program”

The Brethren own several prominent businesses over here and are quite a big customer of ours but they are an absolute PITA and we have had several run ins with them over the years with them even taking their business elsewhere for a while but I made sure we took out revenge on them

… and spend bazillions on nuclear plants we are not likely to ever get.

This is what you get when you start up with the Temu Trump media bashing -
“ Meanwhile, Dutton was down on the New South Wales south coast, visiting the marginal Labor-held seat of Gilmore and Whitlam.

He toured a farmers’ market in Nowra, speaking to business owners and shoppers about rising grocery and power prices. He inspected produce including a large sweet potato but avoided a display of eggs.

You should be the new Antony Green.

Mark Aldridge has bailed on the Trumpets :rofl:
