Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

And what’s the report on democracy sausages?

I ordered two sausages here in Broadford.

The one served by a Labor voter was nutritious and tasty.

The one served by a National voter was full of sawdust and left a bad taste in the mouth.

Has Dutton lost yet?

Ironic that our jumpers have a losers name etched on them.

I didn’t take my jumper off after coming from our EPIC win versus the reigning premier and top-of-the-ladder Norf. In queue for sausages now.

Great to see petrol reaching its lowest price in months on the days just prior to and including Election Day.

Just a coincidence, of course…

That is an image I now cannot erase from my mind- damn you Walla

What are you suggesting?

Just a coincidence! :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s more expensive here than it was last week

The funniest election night I ever had when I was a teenager livng with my aunt in Hawthorn. She ran the local DLP cell for the Yarra electorate, lived down the same street as Jim Cairns ( where I was never allowed to go as I might run into him).
I had to help her with all the DLP flyers. She and the Italian parents of my best friend agreed that we could go to a party chaperoned by an older male relative.
I never owned up to her that he took us to Jim Cairns election night party at the Collingwood Town Hall, when we got to meet with Jim. . She thanked the relative for getting us home safely before midnight. We ate so many mints on the way home after a shandy or two at the party.

Not much different in Wannon.

I usually vote below the line in the Senate so that I can order my hatred, but screwed it up and found a number where I’d used the same number twice. Got a fresh voting sheet and voted above the line.

Lucky it was sawdust. A Liberal sausage would’ve been full of something far worse…

I just finished my 8 hours on a polling booth in the Marsh. Liberals were out in force, mostly middle aged blokes with supercilious grins. I asked if they were Brethren and yep they were from Ballarat. Well organised and aggressive, trying to intimidate everyone. My first such experience after 21 Federal Elections.

Intimidation works. Just ask Latham.

That’s a couple who discussed a Bonnie and Clyde sort of thing but pivoted to politics to do more sustained long term damage

Very very quiet and subdued in Aston. Bit of a surprise to me, we’re nominally marginal now and the libs must be targeting us pretty much #1 to win back.

Minimal HTV pushers, no Brethren, no placard wars, only low levels of corflute vandalism. I didn’t even get anyone knocking on my door during the campaign, and only maybe half a dozen bits of fairly low-effort advertising stuff in the letterbox. Bit disappointing actually, I thought now we were a battleground seat we’d have pollies lining up to tongue-shine our shoes…

As a silent elector for 20 years, haven’t been near a polling booth for a long time.

How early could we have a result?

No such mean spirit here. Labor guys friendly and dedicated, but not bothering to scrutineer 10% of the vote.

Better to watch it play out on tele.
