he definitely does NOT look like someone who uses cocaine.
I bet he tells himself that. Would be love bites on his bathroom mirrorâŚ
QT in Parliament today will be interesting. Albo away and Marles acting PM. Waiting for the âwho knew what and whenâ.
Maybe itâs not a women problem. According to media reports, the relationship soured when she sought his intervention to address bullying within his Parliamentary staff. There doesnât appear to be anything on the public record as to bullying being gender specific.
Kinda over this dumb â â â â .
What is being suggested is so low in the grand scheme of the range of workplace issues you may come across. The fact this petty â â â â is playing out in the media now is an embarrassment for all parties involved.
If it is substantiated that she raised a credible accusation of workplace bullying and the response from her boss was to facilitate her dismissal, it is absolutely grounds for Marles to be put under some serious heat.
That is not acceptable.
Reportedly Greens Senator for WA, Dorinda Cox, has been censured by her own Party for bullying her staff.
Marles hasnât been accused of bullying, rather that he hasnât been prepared to investigate claims of bullying. Letâs see how far this goes.
For other reasons, Marles would be my most disliked ALP MP in a senior position in Government.
I donât like Marles much. Reckon he thinks he is privileged, and if I was betting on anyone leading us into a war then it would be him.
Not sure he cares enough about anyone to be a bully. Probably just ignored it and hoped it went away.
This is basic stuff that anyone should be able to resolve on their own.
The fact these very simple and basic people issues are being aired in public is a national embarassment an an absolute waste of our resources that will now go into it.
I dought that will be the attitude around here when the next Lib is similarly accused.
Are you saying it wouldnt be embarrassing if Libs cant handle basic worker matters without it unnecessarily spilling into the public forum?
Im not sure what your point is.
I think whatâs been said is that Marles allegedly didnât investigate the bullying claims (according to ex COS) and that he allegedly told her to go and find alternative employment. Was proper process followed? Procedural fairness? Did Marles actually tell her to leave after she raised the bullying claims? All fair questions to ask given the focus on workplace culture at PH in recent years. Personally I like Marles (ok Iâll admit heâs a bit schvitzy) but others on here know him/of him better - Iâve only observed him on TV
Yeah, seems a bit over the top.
Bullying happens at many places and depending on the degree of bullying you just deal with it and move on
Credit where itâs due, good changes to HECS from the ALP today.
HECS debt indexation will now be whichever is lower out of CPI and the wages index. Means HECS debtors will no longer be utterly brutalised by inflation spikes.
The govt still should be doing something about Morrisonâs ludicrous degree price hikes that had nothing to do with the cost of offering the course and a whole lot to do with punishing Coalition enemies, but this is at least a step in a half-decent direction.
Parliamentary staffers donât have much security of tenure. She had previously worked in the Office of the GG, before then as a Public Servant in DFAT and PM&C.
If she preserved her CPS status by going on approved leave (as Rudd did for years) maybe she could go back to being a Public Servant if she ceases to be a Parliamentary staffer.
Marles has stated that she continues to hold her position as COS in his Office. She hasnât been sacked.
Yeah nice that theyve done that now that inflation is coming way down.
No one should just put up with bullying at work at any level.
its not rape, banging a subordinate employee at work , or at a work confernece, or prayer room ganqbangs with prostitutes , but yeah , should be fully taken seriously
