I would say it is very common, and a key survival technique.
It can get a Minister into trouble, as Andrews found with Kym Peake sidelining Brett Sutton.
yeah just as well it isnât a competition . one side is so far in front of the other it wouldnât be fair.
so at least it seems like standards have lifted a bit . no denial , no victim blaming , didnât even sack her , so on face value already doesnât seem like this was denied or swept under any carpets and investigation under way . sounds like a classic workplace personality clash .
Something else is going on at PH. The Secretary of the Department of Parliamentary Services took sudden leave at around the same time that the NACC conducted a raid on PH, including the offices of that Department.
Stefanic, a former senior NSW PS, had been in the position since 2015.
A former NACC Interim Commissioner will act in the position .
Hey Chris, I like your avatar
Itâs not over for Paladin. There are other Paladin complaints being progressed by the NACC, which could be much more significant than the individuals in this report.
In 2020, the ANAO report on Garrison and Welfare support covered procurement of Paladin services,
For the first time in my voting life, I went the informal vote for the council election.
10 candidates. I think two of them in their little spiel actually put some detail beyond generic wank words. One of those two had a paragraph about âdonât listen to disinformationâ. The otherâs main proposal was something so infeasible that itâd be impossible.
So in every single box I just wrote âNahâ and mailed it back.
Waste of time.
Can you vote using Roman Numerals?
Yes.
See page 12:
I have two candidates to choose between.
No useful statement as to their position or affiliation on the VEC website.
Nothing in the local paper.
On Facebook I find:
- One is a middle aged white bloke standing in front of and Australian flag - alarm bells start ringing immediately!
- The other is a woman obsessed with a new roundabout and one extreme edge of the ward, that is on the junction of two VicRoads managed roads - so outside of Council jurisdiction.
- Both seem to only be interested in the narrow sectional interests of a population at the urbanised edge of a ward that is not representative of the bulk of the ward which is semi-rural.
I like the idea of voting ânahâ to both, because I donât want to vote for either!
Damn, I had always hoped that if I drew a series of penisis in varying states of erection in each box, and then added a numbered key on the ballot, it could be deemed formal. Reading that guidance, it seems not. (Well maybe I could hang onto it would be if litigated in court, as it could be argued the voterâs intention is clear⌠just need to find a way to be the deciding vote in an otherwise tied election.)
Voting isnât compulsory in our local councils and I think they only average something like 25-30% of eligible people vote in them
Love that Woolies and Coles are suffering.
Bastards.
It is compulsory here and all the fine go to Council, so it is a nice little earner every 4 years.
After 70yo, optional.
Imagine doing that for the senate below the line!
Ok if thereâs only 3 people on the ballot. Anymore than that and youâre stuffed
â â â â and balls, hairy â â â â and balls, erect â â â â and balls, erect hairy â â â â and balls, â â â â and balls and - just gotta get creative!
