As to the several other investment properties, on his disclosure register, two are listed - an investment property in Dulwich Hill with a mortgage and his former home in Marrickville.
I find his gift disclosure more interesting as to the ones he surrendered and retained. He surrendered a turntable gift from the WH and signed Bruce Springsteen vinyls , but kept some other signed ones.
He surrendered a polished pig’s tusk gift from Vanuatu, it probably didn’t get through quarantine.

There is also the issue of frequency of trains, for example if the line is catering to outer suburbs, new housing estates.
As to no houses, are the roads major traffic routes?

Beach rd is no longer a preferred route to the housing on the other side of the line. There is a freeway ( 100 limit ) and an arterial road inland of the rail line which is mostly within 200 m of the beach.

One of the main issues with most level crossing removal cross roads is an increased number of traffic lights, which have now resulted in as much congestion as there was 5 years ago
