Australian Policies -- from October 2024

Yep. He has completely lost it.

LNP. Wilderness. For years.

With Murdoch and Co still pumping the tyres that is far from assured. Front page of every rag in the monopoly “Nuclear Cheaper than Renewables” or something to that effect. There are no more rules for that mutating thing that rusted on dupes are still identifying as the conservative movement, especially since Trump but the seeds were sewn decades ago.

No one is that stupid. 400 billion?

Forget it.

It’s a policy that big and nation changing that if it wasn’t nuclear be a progressive policy.

But back on what it is…he has rocks in his heads.

He will lose conservative voters over it.

Appreciate the response.

I think they’ve done an ok job. I’d much prefer more ‘virtue signalling’ if that is being progressive.

Hopefully Rupert Murdoch does and we can have some balanced media to actually make both sides accountable.

That’s not the figure he’s putting out there and being given a largely free ride in the partisan press with though. And that’s all that counts if the message gets out there effectively enough.

In other words the lie.

I don’t watch sky news or read much of the Oz/Sun etc so maybe that’s it

There have been no claims that the slogans graffitied on Josh Biurns’ office are anti semitic ? Is that what you meant? Wow.

Josh Burns in the first 10 seconds of the attached video clearly describes the graffiti as anti semitic. It’s been widely reported in the media as anti semitic. The Jewish community condemned it as anti senitic. It’s anti semitic

it will be minimum double . imagine how he’s going to go changing the constitution or passing legislation to force private Companies or states to hand over land they have spent a billion or more planning their future … we are close to half way in the transition to renewables . he wants to stop that industry dead in its tracks . he says renewables to be able half , so that means private investment will stop next year , I guess that means his government has to spend all sorts of money to keep that industry going too as investors pull out .
they haven’t assumed any costs on what it will be to keep coal power running for the next 20 years , I think it’s safe to say the power generators don’t want to pay for that
there is no possible way to polish this turd

No. Not at all it’s a big government policy that if followed through will bankrupt the country.

Wasted investment billions, hundreds of them whilst we continue to suffer through expensive energy thats having a dire multiplier effect through our economy.

It’s sheer madness. It’s only “conservative” in nature because it’s the LNP proposing it.

Quite literally one of the dumbest HUGE policy announcements I can think of….for a long long time.

Apart from prolonging and sustaining levels of coal/gas use for another decade or two. That’s the conservative part.

Well yeah that’s when a policy isn’t a policy and it’s just bullshit.

If taken at face value the policy is big government insanity that will send us backwards.

I mean at the scale suggested it’s just nuts.

An interesting observation from Kos…

Gas as in - in the home? gas cookers and heaters?

I’d assume as gas prices increase and people look for cheaper replacements it’s not exactly a difficult or expensive choice. It will be the cheaper option.

Ie it was more expensive for me to get gas connected than have my sparky install 3 phase and induction in the kitchen and get a split cycle aircon to heat the current place I’m in.

For base power. Gas isn’t any cheaper. It probably should be but you know. Aint.

Very accurate summation.

For those who would need to transition from gas to electricity. Estimated cost, depending on size of house and number appliances is in the thousands of dollars. Between $2-8k I think it’s been estimated to transition a dwelling. That’s a lot of money…

I agree with you.

But I suspect you are ignorant of the original meaning of “terrific”.

even the Piranha brothers couldn’t do litotes like that.

You are probably the only one on Blitz who knows what it is, and most of us do not want to waste time looking it up, so “Please explain”.

Good point!

It’s time that the biggest companies started paying any tax.

Kos is going OTT. Some gas is banned for new builds, with an exemption for gas cookers. If people want gas connected they have to pay full price, instead of shared ( same as for water)
Otherwise there are incentives to switch. There has been extensive consultation.

Pissweak response.

@falcon1500 listed strong points about egregious things the conservatives have imposed/want to impose.

At the end he inserted an obvious joke.

The joke is on you if that is all that conservatives can comment on from his post.
