He seemed OK to me, just was a bit slick like lots in Austrade (who are mostly Contractors in USA). Just sounded like a toffy pom, and I thought he was from West Indies parentage. I read his LinkedIn and seems to be an achiever, another probably in the Liberals as an opportunity.
Josh Burns is a quality bloke, and I have thought he is just too nice to be an MP. Smiles a great deal, and is a man of substance, and seems very popular with lots of people in his patch. Greens might do better as they have a new Candidate after the last one ran for the last two elections and made little gains. Liberals could win, but Josh is also well regarded by the Jewish mob of which he is a Member. Open ticket is not common but Greens do it all the time. For Josh it is about the stance the Greens took on Gaza and I have heard it was his decision.
Heās probably a better choice for this electorate than the one that ran last time. She was from the anti-trans wing and finished a very bad 3rd. His past as a Greens member and pre-selection aspirant is certainly ⦠interesting.
From what Iāve heard from the local Branch, Burns preselection was the means to get rid of Danby. He fitted the demographic and was more moderate. He has also managed to forge a relationship with the State Lib MP Southwick whose electorate of Caulfield overlaps with the Fed electorate of McNamara, to limit Southwick undermining Labor in splitting the Jewish vote about support for Israel.
Also, there is Labor Branch antagonism towards the Greens arising from alleged Green dirty tricks in McNamara during the last Fed election
At a recent ABC audio interview and talk back session with Zoe Daniel, Teal MP for Goldstein, a caller hit on her for being invisible to the Jewish community, MiA on commemorations actions against anti Semitism etc.
Zoe then reeled off every function sheād been to, every meeting with Jewish organisations, what she had said publicly.
The Tim Wilson troll decided against debating with her.
Michael was a very interesting character and hardly a rabid Leftie, who held the seat of Melbourne Ports through thick and thin. He had strong views on everything and was pro-USA and anti-China. Reckon he was the lone Jew who worked for the Shoppies Union before he got preselection, and indeed he was the lone Jew in Parliament for many years. He contempt for the Greens has rubbed off on Josh Burns, mostly because the previous candidate Steph Hodgins-May was just not a nice person in my view. I knew her parents well and remember her a a forceful brat as a child. No doubt she has a good brain, but has a habit of annoying people and groups, even her parents. She first ran for the Greens in my area for Ballarat, and as customary we sat down with the Greens to make a preference deal. It was all agreed to put each other second on the ballot, but on election day the Greens had reneged and left it open.
The new candidate in McNamara seems to be nicer but the Greens are not as popular in the area as they were and I suspect they will struggle.
If costs more to repair than to replace. I note that in a previous post you said
If humankind was actually serious about saving the planet we would be looking at the cost of fully automated manufacturing.(in all products)
My long experience in making equipment is that the more you automate a process the less scope you leave for later disassembly and repair. If you look at a Tesla Gigafactory and there are numerous YouTubes showing the massive automation in assembly, and hence in my Tesla, there are few components that can be easily taken apart and replaced if they ever needed it.
Danby did his dash when he got a sick leave pass from Parliament. He was later forced to disclose that he went on a sponsored visit to Israel, funded by a Jewish NGO. He subsequently flew from Israel as part of an Israeli NGO delegation to an international meeting, fully paid for .
There is so much disinformation on social media about fraud in Australian voting.
The latest one is the use of pencils in voting.
The AEC has started a thread on its twitter acount to correct the rubbish @yaco55 . You might be interested to be better informed about what you claim to be a backward system
It actually did last time I turned it on early this year. I did use it only on our old VCR to watch old footy stuff. Mrs Fox the Current cleaned out my classic ā ā ā ā ā collection, some years ago.
