yes.
No.
yes.
No.
Once you do that, convert it into the units that complainants here understand: how many strippers could be hired for that?
There used to be a saying in Melbourne, (and this came from a famous columnist at the then-Sun) - “People who can’t read buy the Sun. People who can’t think buy the Herald”
Since Murdoch took over and merged those papers he also merged the demographic.
Yes but my quote from Keith Dunstan was several years earlier than that great documentary.
you’re a horrible person simmo, the insurgents have stopped talking about it now.
also chil legrande is a ■■■■ ‘journalist’
Hold on.
Did @dmaplestone conveniently omit the bits he didn’t need?
That’s unlike DMapes
No, not at all. The government is alledfed to have doctored the process to ensure an electorate it was looking to secure voter support in was supported by the re routing of the planned line. That was my point and the allegation by the author of the article stands.
That’s not how I interpreted it.. They were losing control of inflation early this year which had become sticky at 3.5%+ by February 2026.
So what your saying is that the Weird looking, unreferenced graph which Dmapes flogged off some boomer Facebook group, is in fact incorrect?
Anyway, back to the topics at hand. Your thoughts Mr Loflyer? Given its Cup Day Tuesday, is your money on another rise? I think it’s inevitable and yes, it’s a big burden for mortgage holders heading towards Christmas for sure. Let’s hope inflation has now peaked for this cycle.
Now you’re ageist. . Those poor old people who’ve paid all those taxes for you to enjoy the services they’ve funded for you. ![]()
You have power in this dynamic.
Bullshit.
I have an expectation of good faith arguments in these threads , and omitting a key factor from the very same article sure as hell isn’t that. Particularly in the run-in to an election.
Just more disingenuous behavior.

the jacana-albion has been the preferred option since tulla was built. the kennett government even put aside the land for it.
so why did the turnbull/morrison government instead want to fund the far-more-expensive and difficult maribynrong route?
-edit- i know you’ve never been to melbourne, so for some extra context the maribyrnong option is more expensive and difficult because they would need to tunnel under the maribyrnong river, likely needing to acquiring a bunch of land in footscray and probably keilor in the process.
Anti-Lula algo bot getting schooled again

Is that true?
I thought it was using existing freight lines all the way from sunshine, then a bridge over the river (next to the existing one), all the way to airport west then cutting up alongside airport drive?
I’m not sure which option would be more expensive or not but just querying the plan you’ve outlined.
yeah thats the jacana-albion route
the maribyrnong option would go more direct underground from footscray to keilor
eagerly awaiting what bogus stat we get tomorrow on australian politics Z
Inflation isn’t counted the same in every country by each central bank. It’s not really that good of a comparison.
A better thing is to pick an index like the “Big Mac” index, “iPhone” index or other similar comparison if trying to compare different countries.
we are going reasonably well looking at say the iPhone index(some countries tax tech high like Brazil but for many places it’s sound)

iPhone prices by country — a live world map and directory across 3 countries, updated weekly. See where iPhone is cheapest and dearest in USD.
