In other unusual news, the sun rose in the east this morning.

Just an honest battler concerned about immigration.

We should hear him out

No…don’t say that…any physical attack on a person is violence…be they a politician or not.

Don’t belittle it (sarcastically) to try and score a point.

This is exactly what people who hate this thread talk about…the silly “my team vs your team” when we should all be on the same side here in condemning such actions.

Someone in the previous thread said something along the lines of “the right deal in violence, the left deal in facts”.

Changing course a little bit
Adam Pulfold (or whatever his name is), the greens candidate for Brunswick says they will make dental free, bring energy back into public hands, build social housing, cut stamp duty.

Funding it by making the banks pay their share and people with more than $5m in property pay more tax.

How many people have more than $5m worth of property and how will the slug them? How will they make the banks pay more tax? Couldnt see anything on his page (now my ■■■■■■■ youtube playlist is going to be bombarded with greens ■■■■)

As others have said on previous threads, it’s easy for The Greens (and other minor parties) to make big promises as they know they are not going to win enough seats to form government.

Making the banks, or any other company, pay more tax is easy…just alter the tax legislation.

Norway has a flat rate company tax of 22% from memory…they slug the oil companies a 56% resource tax and so the oil companies pay 78% tax.

The only thing stopping it here is that out politicians are so “in the pocket” of the multi nationals that it will never happen.

But it’s entirely possible…if we had politicians who put the people of Australia first.

But that’s at a federal level, not state level.

There absolutely should be a resources tax. I thought Rudd introduced that (as opposed to the super profit tax)? Or maybe I’m getting confused with a proposal.

There was talk recently of a 25% gas export tax.

Polling showed that it had broad public support across the political spectrum.

Labor, LNP and ON all voted it down…cowards, the lot of them!

Glad you changed course from your compare the pair on violence, weird trip that one. This is standard Greens policy, tax the rich. Lots of people have property well over that. There would be mechanisms that could be set in place to make it happen quite quickly. It would be magnificent, society does terribly when some have most and most have little. Problem?

“That group of about 500 then marched east along Flinders St, arriving at a truck parked beneath the Pullman Hotel chanting “shut the gate” and “remigrate”.”

Pullman Hotel questioning the old Oscar Wilde maxim lately

I wonder how many more millions taxpayers are going to be slugged so that this project can be politically optimal?

Yes. How are the Victorian greens going to tax the rich?

You’re right, they should stop putting policy ideas forward and basically just try to grift and divide. The hatred for Greens and progressive ideas on the economy and the environment that would benefit the entire nation is a strange twist in the collective psyche. The house has been on fire for some time now, lucky we’ve got massage parlours and woke stuff to blame as the arsonists
