Australian Politics -- and YOU WILL LIKE IT

Seems inadequate.

You forgot ā€˜strollout’

Yep.

Every day brings more of the dispair I feel at having this PM. I fear he will be around a long time.

Free child care is like the Sydney melbourne fast train.

It’s a policy of every party at every election, and it’s absolutely zero percent chance to happen.

He will lose the election and then be turfed out by his own party. I doubt he sticks around

After the rules changes Rudd made in 2013, it’s basically impossible for a sitting ALP PM to be turfed by his own party any more unless he goes actively publicly psychotic.

Under the Rudd rules, it takes 60% of the Federal Caucus to petition for a Leadership vote. I reckon if the current leader had no chance of winning an election then at least 60% would be fearful for their jobs and act.

If they were just a psychotic axe murderer, then it might more more difficult.

LOL

He’s allready been sacked a few times, he didn’t learn from it then.

I wonder what Hockey would have been like.
(On the subject of alternatives to failing upwards and accidental PM’s).

That was the dark timeline?

Had J Hockey got the keys, P Dutton would be contesting this election as PM.

Hockey was a dud, just as bad as the rest of them

I’m not suggesting better, but it would have been different.

Ha!
What am I thinking.
Abbott would have deposed him within a year.

If Costello wasn’t a wimp, stayed and took over from Nelson we may have avoided Aboot/Turnbull/Scomo altogether.

That image, while all true, represents everything that’s wrong with the ALP’s strategy.

Barely any of those phrases or incidents in that graphic would be remembered or even known by the vast majority of the voting public. Do people really think that swinging voters in general give a damn about the Biloela family or Christian Porter’s blind trust? They don’t know and they don’t care.

The only way Labor wins is if they keep it really simple.

  1. He farked up the pandemic.
  2. He farked up the bushfires.

That’s it. Every day, day after day until the election. Hammer that in and they can win.

Focus on stuff only political nerds care about and they blow it. Again.

But he was tho.

You seem very sure about this, it’s a win each way in your case I’m thinking. Anyway, this bloke never sticks around. Last I heard he was living it up in his $17million holiday house up in Qld, the one which doubled almost overnight to $35million valuation. God wanted that for him, wanted that inside knowledge for him, and whatever God decides on election night it’ll pay handsomely again as he fails up to heaven.
