The nuance is that of those that will/want to believe it, will rally to it even, are also accepting that one in 5 men sexual predators.

Get into bed with Greens you cowards

There are irreconcilable policy differences between the Greens and modern Labor, on coal, refugees, the dole, logging, and many many other things… Everyone on either side knows that if an ALP govt is going to be formed any time soon, they’ll be reliant on the Greens in the upper house. But the ALP inevitably pretend otherwise to try to keep the coal miners and Herald Sun readers even slightly onside. And the Greens will inevitably say that their support in parliament will go to ‘whichever of the major parties closer aligns to Greens policy priorities’ to avoid admitting to to fact that that in reality it’ll always go to the ALP because the Libs are a climate death cult.

There’s not really any upside to either Greens or ALP in formally coalitioning, or coming to any formal agreement right now. On the Greens side, in order to meet the ALP in the middle they’d have to give up so much of the very core of their platform that they’d probably lose half or two thirds of their vote to a breakaway ‘real Greens’ party on day 1. And the ALP formally coalitioning with the Greens would be wet dream time for the murdoch media whose propaganda bile assault would be orgasmic in its intensity, and a real problem for ALP members in coal mining etc areas, who the ALP have spent 20 years lying to about the industry’s future prospects.

The ALP hate the Greens and the Greens despise the ALP. But i think quietly the ALP know that they can’t do without the Greens, and the Greens know that the only influence they’ll have on policy is via the ALP, so they’ll hold their noses and work with each other. But just cos you work with someone doesn’t mean you want to get into bed with them.
