Australian Politics -- and YOU WILL LIKE IT

Don’t forget the rapes, sexual assaults, prostitutes and masturbating on peoples desks. Also known as the ‘women problem’.

Operation Sovereign Borders is dog whistling terminology introduced by the Abbott Government. The Government also uses the dog whistling term illegal migrants, which is factually incorrect. Anyone established as a refugee is not illegal. Boat people arrive on a suspected illegal entry of a vessel ( SIEV). There are other asylum seekers who arrive by plane, which is not illegal entry.
ALP supports offshore processing of boat people, relocation to third countries of those found to be refugees, no change in its policy from that adopted by the second Rudd Government. It also supports medevac refugees, legislation overturned by Morrison Government in 2019.
I don’t like ALP refugee policy on refusal to allow refugees arriving by boat relocation in Australia. It’s not humane, as it leaves genuine refugees in limbo if they aren’t accepted by another country. The premise is that it prevents people drowning, but there must be something better .

Albo’s apparent shocker of a week and the resultant upturn in the polls for Scomo demonstrates how shallow ‘voters’ are when it comes to election time. Politics and policy is very low on many peoples list of priorities.

It would have been two or three days into the election campaign before many even knew there was an election on.

Whilst people who follow politics and look further than the occasional gotcha moment know how bad this government is, Morrison’s sudden burst is due more to electoral awareness, (lack of), than the worth of policy and future direction.

The media power is actually scary.

Warching Albo campaign is like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Everyone not involved with Labor saw this coming.

Is it the case that no one in Labor listened or nobody told them?

Ive seen better local council campaigns.

Yep.
We prefer someone who speaks well, but farks up at everything he touches. Everything.
There have been so many people who have said, Albo is farking this up by talking. Unfortunately, I do the @Bacchusfox thing and ask, so what don’t you like about Albo’s policies? Usually, I get a blank stare back. Sometimes, I get the, the left (park I hate that term) want to remove coal completely, have everyone drive electric cars, live off solar power and fork up our economy. Which clearly isn’t in Labor’s policy.

Welcome to the age of total bullshit.

Just remember the LNP has to win seats, as they are on 75 which isn’t a majority.

You really think people who didn’t vote for Scomo last time are going to vote for him now. That all the women who despise him are going to vote for him. That none of the teal independents are going to win. That the high water mark in semi rural blue collar such as Nth Tassie, Hunter and QLD yield more seats than last tine(are there even any).

Maybe you end up with a really hung parliament, but no way does Scomo win a majority.

Also I’ve never heard everyone so thoroughly sick of journalism. This election has killed what ever respect/interest was left. It’s been a pretty steady decline, but it’s totally gone now.

The best journalism so far has been from a 14 year old, a you tuber and some randoms from the crowd. Total indictment.

LNP’s only chance to get in is through a hung parliament.
Majority is no chance.
I’m confident of that.

I don’t think they’ll get in at all though.
The election should be over by 7:30pm on election night.

Unfortunately, campaigns are Scomo’s domain. Where he is judged on his media performance and cannot really fail at doing anything (unless there is another disaster he has to attend to).
So I’m sure this is going at the optimum it possible can at the moment given the circumstances for LNP.

Fairuza Ibrahim, who hosts a morning show on ABC, has come under fire for lists on Twitter called things like Labor Trolls and Lobotomised Shitheads. Her interviewing style is said to be highly pro-LNP, talking over Labor members.

And Stan Grant, who’s unbearable. Asks the question, talks over the responder and gives his own answer. He’s always been a twat on political issues.

The ABC has been well and truly infiltrated by right-wing arseholes.

I hope not because we have a game on at that time

Not entirely untrue.

However, including Albanese and Jason Clare on her lists may in some small way indicate she’s a RW piece of ■■■■.

Yes, which will be over at 7.45pm on current form. You’ll have a free Saturday night!

ABC journo refers to Morrison’s campaign strengths, composed, nothing throws him

  • a proven liar who answers a Q about his captain’s pick of a known homophobe with a response to the effect that his priority is jobs?
    • then cuts and runs?

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this but I think some newspapers might be a little bit biased? Not sure tho

Invited to speak by Jimmy Barnes. But who wants to listen to a politician spruiking at a Blues Festival?
He wasn’t booed until he went on stage.

Morrison spinning more lies on refugees , says there were no children in detention under the Coalition - untrue, some children have grown into adulthood in detention. But no journalist will pull him up.
