I think some things might be such as pathology and drugs is through pbs etc. So they need your Medicare card.
But your actual stay, Dr and any procedures are funded through activity based funding models seperate from Medicare.

A lot more than you are, it seems. As my local MHR would tell you, iāve given her a hard time, demanding change in the Party. If Labor really wants to occupy the Govt. benches again ā which I seriously doubt ā instead of rubber-stamping a string of LNP policies through Parliament, the Party will start questioning them all and OPPOSING THEM . Start with the cruel, fascistic treatment of refugees !
Donāt forget: 51% of the population is female⦠But if you prefer Chalmers, why wonāt you start working seriously within the Party to make him a candidate ?
Maybe thatās because you donāt want to see it ? Itās there all right ā ands itās up to you and the rest of the Labor apparatchiks to recognise it, foster it, amplify it and profit by it ā rather than just toss it in the too-hard basket.
Of course they care ā but they see no way of changing the situation, and instead just blame ALL politicians, no matter what side they represent, as corrupt. Of course, Labor DOES have - or did have until very recently - its own coterie of corrupt kents, particularly in the NSW party. Obeidās shadow is a long one, but itās up to the Labor Party to step out of it into the light and to prove to the Public that it can be trusted again.
Not just that, either, but the Party must show the Public that it has good policies, which are worth implementing, and that it has a competent trustworthy attractive team in place to govern. Given the importance the cult of the personality has gained in the modern media world, it is essential to have a leader who is particularly competent trustworthy and attractive, and who epitomises Labor values. Thatās not Albo: nice man though he is, the public perception of him is that of 40 Shades of Beige, with fedora and woollen suit reeking of mothballs.
Iāve made reference in the past to the need to wage a guerrilla campaign in Parliament. Refusing pairs; demanding a quorum at regular intervals; the odd No Confidence motion in tne Prime Minister; organising constructive dismissal by the Speaker of all Labor members from the Chamber, one by one; moving motions āthat the member be no longer heardā whenever a Government minister gets up on his/her hind legs to speak. Of course such motions will be lost, but if it is put to the vote every time, five to ten minutes of Government time will be lost every time. should be added to the list.
The Murdoch Murder Machine would report widely and as unfavourably as possible on this ā but so what ? At present, the odd time when they do report on Laborās activities it is always contemptuously anyway, and they routinely ignore most of what Labor does. At least if Labor waged a guerrilla campaign, they would get reported by the Murderr Machine, and however bad those reports might be there is the old marketing adage to remember: āThere is no such thing as bad publicity.ā
Yes, the Murdoch Murder Machine is a huge nuisance. But it must be by-passed, however difficult that may prove to be. Social media ā The Guardian ā The Saturday Paper ā the ABC ā Channel 10 ā all of these are willing to give the Labor Party a fair go, but where are the marketing gurus capable of moulding Laborās image ?
Thereād be something seriously wrong if you hadnāt done that: Ballarat is a working-class stronghold.
By āMPā do you mean MLA or MHR ? Geoff Howard MLA is more beige than Albo, so I suppose you mean Catherine King, MHR. Yes, sheās a good one ā and not just for Ballarat either ! She even holds a monthly clinic in Bacchus Marsh, which I assume is attended by the ex-Mayor of Moorabool.
You can probably win them if you only have the right candidates, and the right campaign for each. But first, you need to find an electable leader who will move the Party to the left, and who will be prepared to cut away the dead wood like FitzHunter, who should be expelled from the Party immediately. You also need to humanize your policies on refugees and illegal immigrants, on taxation (Tax the Rich, and a tithe from all religions), on social welfare (dole, pension age back to 65, expansion of Medicare, free dental, etc.
And isnāt it time to give up this outdated obsession with Labor governing alone ? Get into coalition with the Greens, ffs ! Why do the LNP Right sneer so strongly at that idea, if not because they realluy fear its implementation ?
In fact, one guiding principle for Labor policy should be to identify what the LNP hate and fear the most ā and DO IT !
The trouble is, nowadays, Labor politicians are too nice, too bourgeois, too lazy and, as career politicians, have no understanding of Chifleyās Light on the Hill, if they even know that concept exists, and even less interest in such superannuated socialiast ideals.
none, because i donāt live in a greens seat
To say I am angry that a 3 year old girl has septicaemia and has to be separated from her family because our government and court systems are heartless, would be an understatement.
The fact that Australia, the media and all politicians and judges are not upset at this makes me even angrier than the government who did this in the first place.
There should be outrage on all levels about this.
Have you ever thought that many people just dislike Unions in general and would never vote for Labor regardless of what policies they put forward. I think Union membership is down to under 14% and dwindling every day. I know many, many people who donāt even look at policies before voting and simply say āIām not voting for those Union blokesā and tick the other box.
A partnership with the Greens could work but not sure what would happen in Labor states where mining is dominant. Iād suspect there would have to be some āgiveā in any alliance to make it work
Yep nagging your local Fed MP is very effective.
Geoff Howard is no longer in State Parliament.
You are a bigger dinosaur than me.
100% with you IceTemple. Iām at a loss at to why there isnāt widespread condemnation of the LNP for this soulless act. The media is a big part of the answer but we all need to bring these bastards to account.
Whatās this all about? Who wrote the tweet?
Some random Tweeter, but it seems it was liked by an ABC reporter/employee, so it was brought up by that guy to make some weird anti ABC point.
Ben Jenkins was (is?) ABC. Part of the extended chaser team, did The Checkout.
And just like that all the heat is off the PM again.
Ahh, might have got that crossed.
Still not sure what the āTHE AUSTRALIAN - Masterstrokeā stuff is about though ā¦
here comes blitzs resident joke explainer
so ben is pretending in a satirical manner to be christian porter, and in a fictional situation where he making an absolute fool of himself, the australian (a newspaper) is still praising his actions (still in character as porter) regardless.
How on Earth did it cost the ABC almost 700 thousand Taxpayer Dollars in Legal fees over Porter suing when it hardly even got going and was nowhere near Court?
Iād like to see a breakdown of those fees, were the shysters charging them 10k a fking hour or something?? Jeezuz!
I first thought this was a joke. Turns out they were serious about it!
Richard Willingham of the ABC is on the case -he put in an FOI request for a log of ambo call outs on the Peninsula on those dates - got a nil return. Heās not doing it right, journos were tipped off when an ambulance was called for Hird - journos beat the ambos to the hospital.
Fiona Patten of the Reason Party was scathing at the timing when there are some big bills going through the Parliament worthy of serious debate.
Just another pile on to the smear campaign.
Thatās funny: nowhere in my long long post did I mention Unions.
Of course you know many people who donāt like Unions: youāre an Adelaide Tory. Iād be surprised if you knew even a handful of Union members.
jeez you keep notes donāt you? Donāt take it personally, after all youāve given up yourself, itās just a comment on how bad they are at it. Iām all for a bit of vim but try not to āI told you soā while youāre about it, itās alienating. again, FMD.
Keep the picture and try āTheyāre at it again, youāre out of pocket and our hospitals are in a mess, here are the factsā¦ā. off the top of my head in 5 seconds
