Australian Politics -- hold my slabs

Why not ? You’ll be beyond caring, and your heirs can build up some character, making their own way in the world, as you probably had to do.

why would feds pass on the letter though? the PM knowing would have no bearing on an actual police investigation.

I think it would ensure the NSW coppers had all available info to allow them to make a considered opinion.

Maybe, I live in fairyland too.

This is what’s so annoying about Twitter.

Unless you’re ITK, you never actually understand the context. And then if you go into the comments, it’s just people saying ‘interesting, makes you think’

JUST TELL US WHAT IT MEANS!!

For what it’s worth, I wondered if there is a suggestion the PM had the info, which he claimed he didn’t, and the police were saying it had nothing to do with them.

Makes you think…interesting

The % amount would have a huge bearing on acceptability. The questionable ways that governments spend a large chunk our money doesn’t encourage me to agree to let them have more of it.

Ok, so figured it out, I think.

PM said they passed everything over to the AFP. Letter, dossier etc from the victim.

NSW police say they were only given a brief email with no attachments.

So either the PM is lying (I know, I know…) or the AFP is running defence for the PM by choosing to not pass on the dossier.

And considering Dutton is the Minister for Home Affairs who include the AFP.

The AFP used to be in the justice portfolio but it was moved a few years ago and the AFP were quite unhappy about it.

And doesn’t Dutton get briefed on everything that’s going to be an issue if it goes public? I think he was aware of the Brittany Murphy rape story before the PM (yeah I know, I know) as the story goes.

More pieces in the jigsaw emerging from the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry grilling of NSW Police.

According to a report in the SMH

  • there was an unexplained delay in SAPOL forwarding documents to NSW police
  • NSW police were scheduled to travel to Adelaide on 16 March 2020 to take sworn statements, but were prevented by a NSW Govt edict of 13 March banning travel for Covid reasons
  • The SA border was open until 23 March

No surprise that the SA Coroner has called for more information from SA police.

Turnbull has a score to settle with Porter after Porter refused to agree to providing the GG with the Solicitor General’s equivocal advice of Dutton’s Constitutional fitness to hold office ( connected to Government child care subsidies to a family trust - after which Dutton divested his interest)

What is still to emerge is the assistance provided to the woman who went from a Melbourne psychiatric unit to home quarantine in isolation after her return to Adelaide.

I see Mick Fuller is still looking after Scummo’s bins.

In relation to any investigation of the important non-criminal aspects of this matter, I support an inquiry

this is also very carefully and interestingly worded.

which him knowing both sides of the discussion, and being a lawyer to boot, so he’d know if he gets found out to be fibbing about the non legal issues in the inquiry (porter and when he knew about the allegations) then he’d he may not face any legal ramifications from it, but again the court of public opinion will have his head, because lying about when he knew or that will = guilty.
