2 new houses being built within 100 metres of me and one just finished, and another in the next street.
I haven’t seen much hostility between groups in Port Fairy, but then…maybe it’s a different sort of town. It could be much worse in Warrnambool. I hear there’s a bit of an ice problem there.
I guess it just seems a lot different to the era I grew up in where nearly all tradies at the time were staunch Labor voters. Can’t speak for other states but the industry can’t keep up with demands in SA. Most contractors have plenty if not too much work on the horizon
Bit of an issue rose a couple of weeks ago with a coroner’s inquest on a woman who was murdered by her ice addict live-in. Apparently an ambulance refused to take her back to hospital and she died of a ruptured spleen. In Port Fairy, that is.
That whole Western Region of Victoria (Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton, Horsham, Ararat) have got massive issues with Ice… also Eastern SA, Mount Gambier.
Distribution through these areas makes it easily accessible.
When tradies can earn $150K maybe more, do they need a union? No just an accountant to run their self managed super schemes, or advise them on their negatively geared property portfolios.
I think your response may well be replicated across the inner suburbs, I’ve heard a few people say the Qld and NSW farmers can get stuffed. Interesting times.
Chris Bowen said said not to worry about negative equity so no need to worry …oh hang on…
On a more serious note cheaper housing might be good for new home buyers but negative equity brings the LVR on your mortgage into play.
Funny how a year ago it was all about housing affordability and now it’s about negative equity. Another example of shortsightedness of our media and politicians.
