Australian Soccer Thread (A-League/FFA Cup/Socceroos/Matildas) (Part 2)

The ME teams have definitely improved and I think hosting a WC had a lot to do with it as they have spent a stack on infrastructure and youth programs.
The draw also plays a big part in any tournament as I think Australia wins 8 times out of ten if we played Jordan or Qatar but unfortunately we have great difficulty playing Japan and South Korea in particular and don’t match up well with them.
Definitely a bit of the change of guard going on in the Asian conference though

I have always been a big believer in splitting Asia.

1 Middle East and all The Borat Countries

2 East Asia and Oceania

Did you think any of the pens weren’t legit?

Day for it Yesterday for some 1st round cup qualifying.

Sunbury 3
Gisborne 0

Was closer than the score suggests

Carl Valeri running around for Gisborne

What’s this all about??

Go fark yourself Tim

Cahill lives and works in Qatar these days and is in charge of their scouting and youth players across various sports.
He is more than entitled to be happy that “his” nation has won the Asian Cup

Tim will do anything for a dollar.

I can’t see the issue with it.
No one here offered him a role worth much so of course he ain’t going to turn down a decent pay day.
I would think most in his situation would do the same
