Wow nice bump.
And yeah… nah.
Honestly the AFL shoudn’t ask clubs to have one.
For Collingwood its a ■■■■ take for example.
And they make us wear the clash jumper it doesnt make things any better. See vs the Dees.
Clash jumpers would have made sense with Black and White TV. I guess I am a cynic and always will be.

I loved the red shorts.
Not soo much the fat sash.
But probably best we’ve had.
Make Melbourne go back to eighties royal blue!
Grrrr.

FFS Burn AWFL HQ before they fark around yet again with the oldest jumper design in the world.
And also stick a rocket up the Rse of the “perfect man for the job” and get him to defend this club and its unequalled traditions instead of drinking chardonnays with Gil and his corrupt mates.

Bring back the red shorts and the MFing collars
So, red shorts.
We wore them in the 1970s, and sometimes with the first clash jumper, but I’d totally forgotten we wore them for at least one home game in 2007. Can anyone remember why?

Could be! Would explain why the goal umpire is in the white coat. Must’ve been when the heritage round thing really fizzled. Geelong have normal everything and us just shorts.
We wore them a few times from around 07-11/12 as our clash strip. Huge fat sash and red shorts, before we switched to the grey heritage-definitely-not-a-clash jumper.
Also wore them for the draw against FC in the Bryce Gibbs Cup game.
My cousin and a friend of his were visiting and I took them to that one.
I seem to remember it was a really weird feeling at the end of that game. Because there was no winning theme song to play, they played Cold Chisel “There ain’t no second prize…” over the MCG speakers.
I think on some occasions they might work better than white, like when we are away to Collingwood. Maybe St Kilda too.
