I seriously considered Mutch with one of my picks but thought it was just a bit too early. His under age fantasy numbers are crazy. I expect he is a few years off but he could be a great stash and hold.
You are unlucky horlin-smith went big on the weekend, wasnt on my radar till then. His vfl numbers last were very good and id like to think the cats are going to wake up to themselves and look for some more midfield options this year.
There is certainly some encouraging signs around mutch. Out of curiosity how many and how long can you hold players like that in your 20 waiting for them to break out
Pick taken and Birch texted.
Completely missed McIntosh on the listā¦
McIntosh was high on my list. I was sad to let him go.
Can hold them forever. The balancing act is making sure your team is somewhat competitive. A number of our teams started with a lot of young players and are just starting to mature after 5 years.
I guess I donāt have my head around the idea of flat out tanking a fantasy side yet
As a bare minimum everyone is expected to field 18 playing players each week.
Iād that a hard rule?
if you go all in kids you might not be able to do that. Indeed Iām not sure that I will because I cut playing, low scoring kps in favor of fringe medium scoring runners. Donāt get me wrong I tried to bring in players I think are a reasonable chance to play but if I only had the 20 currently listed thereād be a chance I would not have 18.
How many donuts can you have in one side before you are bringing the game into disrepute?
Most guys fill out the final 4-5 picks from their draft with guys who are solid AFL footballers, get regular games and might average 50-60, but you know they will be discards come the end of the season. These blokes will not be best 18 but come in due to injury/suspension so you can have at worst a full 18 of selected players. Of course sometimes that may not be the case, we have had instances where blokes have to have a donut if all their rucks are unavailable.
Fortuately no one has ever done it to such an extent. The key thing for me is seeing a coach actively turning over the bottom couple of players by using the free agenncy pool to try and bring in someone who is playing. As @Smooth points out we have had issues with rucks in the past and last year there was a shortage of mids.
With the draft I always try to balance potential with getting regular games. It doesnāt always work which means you end up chopping some drafted players early in the season to replace them with someone who is playing.
Oh so you can delist at any time not just lti and then top back up to 30 with a fa. I wasnt aware of that.
Done, sorry about delay.
Yep we can turn over players in the weekly free agency pool. We can make 20 changes a year excluding LTI replacements.
Interesting pick there mate. Wasnāt expecintg you to want ruckman with Gawn and Tippett already on your list. Could be a great one to have grabbed though based on his preseason form.
I like to have 3 on my list for balance reasons and he seems likely to get some game time and has potential. Now I can forget about rucks for the rest of the draft.
Also with no ruck relief rule this year, strategically makes things a little harder for those who havenāt invested
Damn heeney out with glandular fever
Damn, have to reshuffle my rDT forward line.
Does Bewick know heās up?
