Pick made, Barge texted. DTD threw a spanner in the works taking Ah Chee, so it required a bit of think music. Decided between 2 players, pretty much went with who I thought was more of a chance to be taken between now and my next pick. Just hope the guy I’ve left in the draft slides to my next selection, but highly doubt it…

Ironically i considered Otten but because i had stocked up my depleted backline i decided to go for potential, and an F, over experience.
Yeah I rate the Ah Chee pick. Scored reasonably well in terms of points per time on ground. Has the ability and maybe the opportunity at GC will be there for him. Otten is a good get because he can score when he plays, plus with Hooker and Carlisle being F eligible too, having some solid defenders who I can rely on to get consistent 60-70s mean I can shift them forward if I get a few injuries. He’s not best 18 but a good fill-in player if required.

I can see the reasons behind it but for some reason clubs don’t rate him at all but maybe necessity will give him the chance he needs.
Nothing terribly scientific about pick 74. And even less exciting. With Roughead out for at least two months, and Lycett a few weeks off, i have to find a ruck. There aren’t many. Even fewer who are likely to play. The theory here is that with Lycett injured, Giles probably has to play. Probably. Even that isnt certain, but i note that he has been added to the JLT squad after returning from a broken thumb. Fingers crossed on this pick. Just trying to meet my obligations to attempt a full side here. A necessary evil.
After the “meh” of Giles, im genuinely happy with this pick. I was reluctant to let Hunt go from my keepers and wasnt surprised to see him picked up by others. Then Sheppard got snapped up. But ive been watching and hoping that Harmes stayed anonymous since i took Mutch at #41. I think Harmes is a very promising young kid for Melbourne. Not sure what his job security is like with Hibbo’s arrival but Harmes looked very decent FF material when he played last year.

There are two other players still on the board that I’d love to get if i had another pick before the rubbish rounds. But i dont.
Thought he’d get back to me, sal. Thought a long time before giving him up from my keepers. If he does play, it will probably be in a forward pocket based on the pre-season, so he could be a BF before long.
