Ben Rutten - Back to the grindstone (Part 1)

When the coach decides that defending in your back half instead of defending from your forward half is your game plan.

Mixed with the current midfield group we have who wouldn’t know what a tackle or defensive effort was if it slapped them across the face.

I’d say our defence held up well in patches but it is no surprise that it ultimately was our downfall as it was under constant pressure.

Our game style was utter dog ■■■■■ the past two years and yet this year was a far inferior version than the previous season where we actually performed well in the back half of the season and missed out on finals due to a poor start. This year it was a worse version of last year with patchier performances.

To defend from your back half and allow the opposition to set up behind the ball is playing into literally every team in the AFL’s hands to be honest.

He’d be in the mix I’m sure.

Ex Crows captain.

Do we need to appoint Rutten now to avoid losing him ?

Thats what Caroline wilson will be running with next week on footy classified i bet.

If we lose Rutten would Worsfold push for his mate Pyke?

Surely they will look at Scott Burns before Rutten?

Burns isn’t one of the old boys club or mates with Ricciuto

Early favourite to replace Pyke at Adelaide…

It seems what he says goes.

Lots of power that bloke

Whoosha: what would you bring to the club.
Pyke: well I know of this great boot camp
