I’m saying that he has been there long enough to recognise that Heppell is not the man and to have put in place systems to grow leadership within the group. Even to take control of this area and not allow players to elect their own captain.
The bench interaction with Hind was interesting. If I was coach and player acted like that to me he’s be playing VFL the next week.
Yeah, it was strange. Especially Hind not engaging with him at all. I think Rutten didn’t handle it too badly though…one of those situations where someone is angry/disappointed and there’s no point calling them out because they know they ■■■■■■ up.
Yeah don’t think Rutten did anything wrong. Just hope that Hind is educated behind the scenes by Rutten. As if he doesn’t it really shows disrespect to Rutten, and the ramifications of something like that.
… and if a coach did that to me for that I’d say “fine, don’t worry about playing me the week after either”
Don’t count on much changing. Until change happens we are walking uphills.
Hobbs will be a great leader in time. Give him a couple of years.
We’ve got plenty of time, we’re not doing much or going anywhere soon. We are a good couple of years off doing anything jumping clubs and like flying up the ladder.
Sadly, I’m still waiting BUT SO FAR, THERE IS NOTHING INSPIRATIONAL ABOUT TRUCK.
I find zero inspirational about Goodwin.
the stuff that sticks out for me, apart from his ears, is that he cut his teeth at Essendon under hird, likes a beer, likes a punt, and nearly got fired the year before he coached them to a flag.
There’s not much inspirational about worsfold.
there nothing inspirational about roos, Longmire, Simpson. You wouldn’t know who he was walking down the street.
Point is, if truck was in an organisation that was supportive and gave him belief you may see a more relaxed, open manner which may cause people to see a bit of personality.
On here people want him charismatic, they don’t want him smiling, they want him down at ground level and serious and they want him in the box and head butt walls and come into the press conference singing life is a cabaret, punch Damian Barrett in the face ,and think he was the spit for Marlon Brando charisma wise.
The players seem happy with him. If this wasn’t true than im sure Barrett, if he was conscious, would find out.
IMO, how Rutten responds to Hind doing that is important.
It’s a perfect chance to show some control.
Him and Merrett were having a fair argument after Merrett pinned someone holding the ball late in the game. Hind took the advantage which I think annoyed Merrett. Think Merrett wanted to slow it all down or wanted the stat.
What happened ……I must have missed it ?
Oh nice staged managed fluff
Bullshit, the younger generation a soft!
I didn’t pay attention to that.
Perhaps repeat the post using ALL CAPS.
I took as Hind being too ashamed to talk to him. Knew what was going to be said before the coach said it.
Yeah I reckon
Hind just had his head slammed into the turf.
Rutten could have thought there was some form of concussion there as well.
I’m sure they’ll have a chat about it sometime during the week.
Have to agree with that and to be honest at the start of last year most would have said 2024 would be the year for us to move. I’m still concerned that Rutten isn’t the one but if we are still struggling early next year he will be moved on, we may have missed out on Clarkson by then.
